Board Track Racer Style Felt Cruiser

New updates, added a headlight and got the brakes sorted out. I originally planned to weld a rear disc caliper tab on the seatstay but the stays are very beefy so i ended up just drilling and tapping two holes to bolt on the caliper.

Board Track Racer Style Felt Cruiser

Honestly, it was the right amount of springiness to begin with but with the wheel/tire combo and leather sprung saddle I'm running now, it's pretty cushy.

Board Track Racer Style Felt Cruiser

Yep, after inspecting a few things I decided to widen the forks a tad and use spacers to widen the gap two about a half inch. Also, because the front caliper is mounted inversely on the right-hand side because of the fork's odd configuration, the caliper and brake hose were way to close to...

Board Track Racer Style Felt Cruiser

Spinningmagnets, fork is a threadless Felt springer which I've been told is basically a rebranded Sunlite. I'm running an Avid Alixir 7 hydro front caliper, 220mm Avid rotor and using a pair of adaptors to push the caliper out to clear the rotors. Took it for a spin earlier and it works great...

Board Track Racer Style Felt Cruiser

It is indeed a 135mm hub, this is one of the steel frame Felt cruisers with this beefy dropouts and stays so I just coldset it to the right spacing - I've done this a bunch of times with old lugged road bikes. Fits like a charm now.

Board Track Racer Style Felt Cruiser

Inspired by some of the cruiser bikes I've seen on ES, namely DanJPendleton's slick board track racer style Micargi, I started my own project. It's a New Belgian Brewery special edition bike I got off CL. I swapped out the rolling gear with a custom set RoadRash laced up for me - an MXUS 4t...

WARNING: OUT $500 due to seller ROADRASH

Just writing to say that I've had nothing but positive experiences with RoadRash. He laced an MXUS hubmotor to 19" motowheels and even went through the trouble of ordering/mounting some Shinko tires I requested. The man had a high tolerance for my litany of questions and constant...

    I C U: ES Spotting!

Haha I haven't been on the boards for a while but meeting an ES'er for the first time was awesome, especially an RC'er. I miss having the evoke grin but my bike was getting a little dangerous. Anyway I'll be getting back into ebiking again soon enough. Matt if you're interested I've got some...

Riding for charity, help an ES brother out!

Hey guys, next Saturday I'm participating in a local bike-a-thon. In these tough times, many organizations are seeing their budgets shrink so I'm riding for a local rape crisis center that's had to lay people off and rollback services to my community. It'd be a shame to see this place shutter...

    Overvolting Turnigy motors

Some folks here wondered about the ability of the turnigy motors of handling more voltage than their max rating. Well I'm happy to report that after a month of running my 63-74 motor at 44.4v that its still going strong. I'm sure the gearing of the SA 3speed is helping too. My only concern now...

    another bmx build(friction drive)

Nice setup there my friend. After seeing all the awesome work you hysterical have done, I'm inspired to build up my own friction drive rig. I love my chaindrive bike now but it has two key weaknesses, chain alignment and weight. Having the chain pop off when going over 40mph is not fun!

Single swingarm (cheap, quick and dirty) friction drive

Hey guys, great builds! Keep up the great work. I'm looking to build up a friction drive of my own for my road bike. In regards to the tire wear issue, has anyone considered using rubber for the motor lining? Perhaps re-using an old tire? Hhoore, I've seen your vids on YouTube. How has the...

Anyone else running EVLogix RC Throttelizer?

Yeah its like he completely vanished. Thanks a ton Thud!

Anyone else running EVLogix RC Throttelizer?

Hey guys, I'm calling out to anyone else who's bike is equipped with a throttelizer. My laptop crashed a while ago and I lost the throttelizer programming software. If anyone has it, please let me know - i've tried contacted EVLogix but the site is gone and my emails have bounced back from all...

Motor Reliability....Who's got the oldest motor and how old?

@BillMckraken - I should mention that before running the motor, I did re-glue the magnets with Devcon Epoxy. I'm using an EVLogix RC Throttelizer with the current limit set at 80amps. Now running at a little under 30V and the Turnigy Wattmeter reading around 30amps running on the flats, I'm...

Your Creation's Before & After Pics

I've gotten a few questions about how my Sturmey Archer drive-train looks so I'll post the latest pictures of my bike here. Here's how it looked originally: Here's how it looks now. All the electronic components/batteries are stored in pannier bags for a much more stealth look...

Motor Reliability....Who's got the oldest motor and how old?

For all the poo-poo'ing of the Turnigy outrunners' reliability, I've never had any issues with mine (63-74 200Kv). My ebike's been running for almost 2 years now, logged around 5K miles. A number of times I have had the motor piping hot on extended uphill rides. After I destroyed a cheapo...

    Issues with Turnigu ESC's

So I've switched ESC's from a CC ICE 100 to a Turnigy Sentilon I had sitting around from an RC helicopter build (wanted to up the voltage). The ESC's hooked up to an RC throttelizer and just doesn't seem to work. But when a bec/receiver combo is used, it works fine. I've tested throttelizer...

    26in Wheel Drum Brake Options?

Hey guys, i haven't posted for a while but i just wanted to say that my 70mm sturmey drums been working awesome. Had the bike regularly over 30mph and felt confident stopping the rig.

Aeolian C6374- KV170 brushless motor mini review

Thanks for posting the review on the Aeolian motor. Since it seemed like an unproven quantity, I assumed it was just a cheaper knock-off of the Turnigy so I'm glad you found it at least on the same quality level, if not higher. Knock on wood, my Turnigy 63-74 has served me well for over a year...

    No offers from NuVinci

Tapholov, I originally wanted to equip my bike with a NuVinci hub after seeing your ebike build. However, because I've got a few different bikes and trying to build a somewhat standardized build across a couple bikes, a NuVinci hub was just cost-prohibitive. It's a shame they don't seem too...

Where to buy Sturmey Archers internal hub?

Oh sorry I forgot to clarify: I have two broached ENO freewheels on the rear cassette. The inner freewheel has a 110t sprocket mounted on it. Below is a pic of the old wheel without the 3-speed hub. Whenever it stops snowing and gets a little warmer out, I'll snap some pics and vids.

Where to buy Sturmey Archers internal hub?

UPDATE: I laced the Sturmey Archer hub up yesterday, removed the dual ENO freewheels from the old wheel (which was a major PITA btw, it was hell to tap these onto the wheels in the first place and about 3x as hard removing them). After I set everything up, I ran the bike at 8S in the shortest...

Where to buy Sturmey Archers internal hub?

I just received my new Sturmey Archer hub and bar-end shifter thanks to StudEbiker. I tell ya, the folks on this forum really are the best. StudEbiker, Luke and others have really gone above and beyond to help me with my ebike, even at a cost and inconvenience to themselves! You guys are the...

RC Drives ... why such high voltage?

I won't even pretend that I'm technically knowledgeable but from first hand experience, running this motor at lower voltage generated noticeably more heat (I'm assuming from the higher current draw). When I had this linked to a 6-fet hall sensor controller and running at over 30v, it barely got...
