G'day Chad, Good to hear from you! We are keeping the Aprilias going by the sound of it. That is amazing to be able to fit 2 packs in the box and end up with 28Ah.....that would make for a very long ride. I wonder how long the pinion on the motor would last with 72V!!!! When I got the Optibike...

HI Guys....long time no post. I have just had a battery made up for my Aprilias. I have sold a few of my older bikes and are left with 3 nowadays. 2 are going and the other is for another project down the track someday. As you may remember I have modified my bikes to run with hub motors. One...

G'day ThousandWax, I have got an OEM controller. I took it off a bike that Hillhater bought off me. The bike came from Canberra and had only been ridden a few times by a bloke in his late 70's.I am not sure the brakes had even been used.It had been kept in his spare bedroom. I replaced the OEM...

G'day Rob, The equation for range is the voltage multiplied by the capacity of the battery. So, in your case 14 Ah x 24 V is 336.This is referred to as your watt hours (WH). Apparently if you are thrifty with the throttle you can expect to use 20 WH per mile so in theory you should get 16.8...

Yes, you will need a throttle and it would be a good idea to visit this website to get all the info you will need. When you go onto this...

I regreased a gearbox today and found that it was not necessary to remove the motor/gearbox from the bike. In the past I have thought it needed to be removed. Quite a simple job of removing the drive side crank arm, then the bottom allan bolt that holds the plastic to the frame is removed. This...

G'day James, I have had a strange thing happen to me on a few occasions where my bike has suddenly stopped. The battery was okay but the controller had decided to cut off. However, after about 20 minutes it would be okay again.I learned to not push that bike too hard and avoid the cut off...

I recently rode one of the Aprilias up my enormous hill and it ceased to work just as I got to the top. This is one of the bikes that I have converted over to the YK31C...
