    em3ev bulk chargers with switches

does anyone who has one of their controllers with the switches to pick 100% 90% or 50% SOC ever opened it up to see how their switch changes the output voltage? I'm trying to see if its worth buying their bulk charger or if its just a switch with an inline resistor.

    Bighit 8t mac

That thread with the Norco would be mine :) Good to see it inspired you. After riding the ebike for quite awhile, and taking it off curbs and small jumps.. I have to say that even with the two panels taken out, it didn't feel like there were any issues whatsoever. That being said, I think if I...

Bump on my question.. too cold here to try it myself

Who uses Slip Charge mode on their controller? I love it!

I think I might be missing something here. With slip charge mode enabled, what I've noticed it that you don't get any current back to the battery until the throttle is completely let off. Zombiess, are you saying that when you have slip charger enabled, if you let throttle down to 50% but are...

    C80100 Onboard Video

That's extremely fast for 36v.. must be guzzling a lot of amps! good stuff, more details on the build?

    Custom Long Tail Build

If there's anything I learned with all my hobbies its that I shouldn't fix what isn't broken. It doesnt get in the way of anything and while I would like it better without the other chain rings it also has a bash guard so I think I'll keep it. Just got a .5w led rear tail light. A clone of a...

    Custom Long Tail Build

Yes, 16" moped tires. SR714.. love them. Makes riding at 35mph extremely comfortable and not nerve wracking. Whenever I take a turn, I always put the pedal away from the ground. I never pedal this bike and don't plan to unless I run out of juice, which I am careful to avoid. I'm actually...

    Custom Long Tail Build

I don't have the total weight. I can only say that it is definitely between 60lbs and 90lbs.. probably closer to the upper limit. I will definitely check eventually though, as I am planning a second build with lighter gauge steel. Speaking of the the steel, it is 3/4" square 14 gauge tubing...

Phase vs battery current for most efficient setup

One odd thing that I have noticed is that the current continues to climb, whereas, expected would be 40a then taper off.. i see mine go from 30a and while accelerating will slowly climb to 40a then drop back down to 20a cruising. anyone see anything like this? maybe i should get a video.

Phase vs battery current for most efficient setup

Thanks. Yeah, I modded my R12 to give regen at 20s lipo, so I'll have to adjust for that on the LVC. On the EM3ev program, the instructions come so that what you see isn't really what you get. You get the battery amps to 32.5A in order to get 65A battery current. So I wouldn't want to set it to...

Phase vs battery current for most efficient setup

Just downloaded XPD. However, I don't see the EB3xx configs available. I see that you can create one yourself.. I also see that you can set overcurrent to 0s. Do you have to worry about dividing or multiplying anything or is what you see what you get? Cause when em3ev gives you the program, you...

    Winterizing your ebike

Is your garage heated? I think that's a big deciding factor. If I could have a place to keep my bike that would keep the batteries warm, ready for riding, I don't think I'd have the voltage sag issues that I see from trying to pull 3kw from a 72v10ah pack when it is 40 degrees out. I noticed...

    Winterizing your ebike

I love ebiking a lot, its just that commuting I need something that is convenient. It's a lot more convenient to hop in a car in the winter. In the spring, summer, and fall, I love ebiking and how free it leaves me.. not to mention not having traffic to deal with is awesome. I won't be having...

    Winterizing your ebike

I've thought of a system to water cool the hub and use the batteries as a heat sink. But this only works when the temperatures are low outside. Here in NY, our summers are too warm to make that system possible but if I lived in Canada or something I'd do that to allow the use of lipos.

    Winterizing your ebike

With the low temperatures, I see my lipo suffering badly. It suffers almost as much as I do in the cold.. I still ride it every day, but I know that once it starts snowing I won't be riding anymore.. just too dangerous with NY drivers around. But it seems like all I have to do is check the...

Ebay 48V 10AHLi batteries? any good?

My first ebike battery was a 36v10ah from ebay as well.. it lasted me quite a while. Though they're not gonna be good if you want anything more than pedal assist, they serve their purpose well if you want to use them as packs which will help you while you pedal. They cant put out any decent...

Phase vs battery current for most efficient setup

I was reading through some threads on phase/battery current.. the general consensus is to keep phase current about 2.5x battery current. And with a block time of 1 second, this is now setups come "stock". Then I also read, specifically from mwkeefer, that lowering the phase current to just 1.5x...

    Custom Long Tail Build

Sorry for the large image sizes in the first post. I just learned how to resize them. :) Anyway, I added pegs to my rear hub.. took more work on the side with wire exiting than I thought. First, I drilled a hole, then I had to cut my wires and resolder them after fishing them through the hole...

ZombieSS's Official Greyborg Warp build thread LOTS OF PICs

zombiess, is there a bearing where the bottom bracket meets with the swingarm? And am I correct in assuming that the the swingarm comes in two pieces and once secure onto the bottom bracket, the bolts in the swingarm keep the two pieces together?

    Winterizing your ebike

Hi all, Just want to discuss what is the proper procedure for winterizing your ebike. Now that New York has started to plummet temperatures into the freezing point of water at night, I find it less comfortable to ride an ebike for commuting. Just wondering other than storing the batteries at...

    GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400

With the stock setup, is anyone able to power wheelie with the GnG? Doesn't seem possible on my setup, even though the batteries were not fully charged. I was running 14s with 3.8v/cell average.. don't think that it was even close to a power wheelie. Doubt fully charged batteries will help...

    GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400

I noticed that the kit is also significantly louder when not actually mounted. Once it is completely installed, while riding, the noise is not much louder than a Magic Pie type of growl, only with the added noise of the freewheel does it sound much different.
