    Mid Monster Test Bike

Hey yall, I haven't been on ES for a while, sorry to let this post go stale! I haven't had a working bike for a long time. I am so sorry that I never got you guys any videos from the Test Bike v1.0. After my last post, I took the bike for a test ride, and it ended up being the wrong wiring...

    Mid Monster Test Bike

So there has been some excitement since my last post... Ignoring Hyena's advice and my better judgement, I let a friend ride the bike. Now in my defense, he was the person who helped me build the bike, and had ridden it a number of times already, including some unauthorized off-road...

    Mid Monster Test Bike

LOL Dad- The motor is very quiet. Chip was complaining about not hearing the motor "at all" for throttle input. I told him you judge by the seat of your pants. I definitely need to open those controllers... The bike needs some serious upgrades for safety, but those cost $, and a...

    Mid Monster Test Bike

Yeah it's a Pirelli 10" 130-90. The front badly needs a 20" wheel with a hydraulic brake. After riding it for a couple days, I have to say, I LOVE RIDING THIS THING!!! It's so unrefined in the front that it makes it more exciting. The adrenaline rush is insane. I...

    Mid Monster Test Bike

Thanks hjns! - My 70A controllers don't have regen. I opted to use the 50A controllers because I knew I was only going to have a front brake at first, and needed the regen capability. - I am using two Greentime 15fet 4110's - The controllers are naturally OUT OF SYNC, because the stator teeth...

    Mid Monster Test Bike

It's alive! I finally got around to putting this motor on a bike. I tested it in stock form, running 100 amps total, 50A per controller. 78V measured before test run. Sag to around 74V would give 7.4kW peak power. Now I've ridden a number of different Ebikes, ranging from 4-16kW. I have...

    Mid Monster Test Bike

Hey y'all, Sorry for going AWOL. I'm glad that Dad was here to clarify some things for ebiker1. LI-ghtcycle, these numbers are from my first post above, and should answer your Q's : 194mm between flats 161mm cover to cover width **198mm cover outside diameter**

    New lipos from Hobbyking!

Actually, if that plug actually needs a positive and negative wire for EACH cell, then that is a PITA. If that's the case, then DON'T clip the redundant wire; it will be useful. You will have to add in 5 more wires, soldering one to each of the other 5 wires BETWEEN cells, for a total of 14.

    New lipos from Hobbyking!

2 of the wires are redundant and go to the same tab connection. Where the two plugs meet, between the third and fourth cell. Cut one of those 2 wires and you'll be good to go.

    Mid Monster Test Bike

Hey yall, This is my first solo ebike creation! I got a new scooter hub to test, dubbed "Mid Monster", and this thread will follow the build. The motor will be for sale on ES once we give it the green light. I want to do a good bit of mods along the way, and I am trying to document my efforts...

Thanks guys! Oh and they only have classic grey duct tape in CR, Ken. Now that I'm stateside, I've seen the colored, patterned, and even college logo duct tape! Here is another Clown video, after installing regen braking. 58.3 A of regen, 129.5 A max, 53mph top speed. This...

Put riding a 23kw ebike on your Bucket List

A 50% power-to-weight increase (from a faster setting than I experienced) will feel AMAZING. I have to get back down there asap. Of course, I can't even begin to comprehend Luke's >143kW, that's just nasty. Pretty much a DIY Killacycle :D

Put riding a 23kw ebike on your Bucket List

Should have turned it up sooner!!! I'm so jealous right now. You have to get video cameras forward/rear, and work on that power-to-weight ratio  since I now have to live with video porn like the rest of 'em. Makes me wonder what the other controller will be able to feed Hubmonster...

Super V and Clown Bike in CR - New 16kW Compilation Video!

We made a new swingarm out of angle iron, which was longer and had big clamping dropouts. The shock attachment point is now higher than on the original swingarm, and we also made another custom mount on the bike frame for the shock, which was a couple inches higher. These frames are aluminum...

Super V and Clown Bike in CR - New 16kW Compilation Video!

Here is the first Super V vs. Clown Bike video, as promised! Sorry for the relatively poor video quality and angle, but you do get to see Super V completely school Clown on our favorite climb route. I also got all the CA numbers at the top on video, just for y'all. iU6Z5GG0D4c This was...

There's a new sheriff in town (new pics on p5)

For the record, we measured the stator recently when we opened up this beast to ventilate it. It is indeed 270mm x 50mm... We completed the beautification and wiring of the bike yesterday, and have gotten a few test rides in. The torque is tremendous. It is certainly the quickest machine I...

Clown Bike Climbs Mountains in CR - UPGRADE w/pics & video

So I finally made another video early this morning. I will be uploading it to youtube tonight, and linking it here early tomorrow. I took the same route as the first video, for comparison. But this time, I only took video of the climb. I made sure to get the CA data at the top of the climb on...
