    Anyone have aspergers? Is "weird"?

I also find if I try and wind people up it always almost gets taken the wrong way, I guess I'm more of a technical person as opposed to a people person, I'll give that test a go, but even if I do have it, there's not really much I can do about it as it's not like there is a 'cure'

    PANASONIC ebike battery change

Are there any examples of anyone successfully bypassing the BMS for the Panasonic drive system? I must admit I'm tempted to pick up a used bike with a Panasonic drive system on it and building my own battery. Now I have a ton of 4S li-ion packs, so if I could use 8S (~30v) or even 12S (~42v)...

Info on Laptop 18650 LiCo cells

I remember a thread on here had a PDF from NASA showing some destructive testing of 18650 cells, it was quite an interesting read and had some good info on making packs safer if you're building your own. I'm running 18650s in a low power setup on my bike and it works well, I don't discharge...

XPD: open-source keywin e-bike lab replacement

Just to let know you know I managed to get XPD to flash in the end. After trying 2 dffferent computers, both Ubuntu and windows, eventually my 2nd USB to TTL adaptor arrived and it flashed first time. So if anyone is having any programming issues, try a different USB to TTL adaptor, they're so...

XPD: open-source keywin e-bike lab replacement

I have a button with 3 wires allowing me to wire it up so it either closes or opens the connections. It turns out I had it wired up incorrectly the first time, as I originally had it to the button would make as opposed to break the connection. I have now rewired it but it still doesn't seem to...

XPD: open-source keywin e-bike lab replacement

Thanks, I tried using the switched +5v feed on to the very right hand pin (where the yellow wire goes in your photo), but I still cannot get it to program unfortunately. I did come across this thread which seems to have more than wiring configuration for this board...

XPD: open-source keywin e-bike lab replacement

No problem, I'm happy to wait and I appreciate your help here. The google docs link works fine, it does look like the 5v line is being switched there but by the looks of it there is no enable pin? I tried a loopback test and my USB adaptor works ok, so that's one less thing to worry about. I...

XPD: open-source keywin e-bike lab replacement

Thanks, I have emailed him but have yet to get a reply. He usually takes a day or two to respond in my experience, but I'm pretty sure this controller I have is one of the reprogramable types. I'm 99% sure it's an Infineon based controller. I think I had my TX and RX pins around the wrong way...

XPD: open-source keywin e-bike lab replacement

Hi guys I cannot program my controller, it just sits there saying "waiting for controller ready" I'm using a Keywin eb306 board, and I have not managed to program it with any software yet. Here is a photo of the back of my board, I have only hooked up the gnd, +5v, RX and TX pins. There are...

    Taming the twist grip throttle

While this is for a volume control, as opposed to throttle control, this circuit may work on a normal linear throttle: http://sound.westhost.com/project01.htm

Where can I find a pinout of the eb306 Keywin boards?

Thanks for the links, I found by the process of elimination that it seems to be the SP pin that is for the throttle connection: By the looks of it only the bare minimum is hooked up in this pic, so I'm going to try hooking up the SP pins to the throttle and hope for the best. Once I have...

Where can I find a pinout of the eb306 Keywin boards?

I'm almost done building one of these boards up with my own fets but I'm struggling to find info about this board online Most threads relate to programming or changing LVC resistors. On the PCB there are many connections, TA, TB, SP, SLA, P1, P2, etc. What do these all mean? where do I...

Quick question about using your own FET's in an ecrazyman

Nice, thanks. I did notice that there is already is an LM317 on the bottom right of the board, but I guess one must be used for the throttle power supply and the 2nd LM317 is needed for the hall sensors? Anyway I've found an LM317 in my box of bits so I should have this thing working soon. Yep...

Quick question about using your own FET's in an ecrazyman

Quick question about using your own FET's in an ecrazyman controller: I've recently purchased one of the ecrazyman controllers, where I'm planning to use my own FET's. I ordered the 6 FET version as this is for a low power motor. However on the PCB there is room for 7 IC's. By the looks of...

48v Hua Tong controller problem, throttle cuts out at 2.5v

I did try a few other phase and hall combos, but with a geared hub any bad combo doesn't work at all. It seems that the controller doesn't seem to like the high RPM of my motor; Today my ecrazyman controller arrived, I swapped out the Hua Tong controller for the Ecrazyman controller, the exact...

    gens ace 10000mah 6s1p lipo

Well the 5500mah version is sold in the UK for around £70, which is around $110. http://www.giantshark.co.uk/gens-5500mah-lipo-battery-p-406495.html I'd guess the 10000mah version would be around double, but even so I have no idea if this is cheap or expensive in terms of £/$ per kwh.

48v Hua Tong controller problem, throttle cuts out at 2.5v

Ok, here's a photo of the label of the controller I'm using: Now I'm guessing 1.1-4.2v is the throttle voltages? The reason I ask is that my motor starts when the throttle is around 1.4v with quite a jerky start, and cuts out at 2.5v with a no load speed on the wheel of 18mph. Now with my...

Bafang 24v 200W motor info needed

The nut seems to be on the non-drive side of the hub, so if I did manage to get a thinner nut, maybe the disc caliper would be too close to the disc? It seems the gap on the non-drive side is just over 7mm, so if I can get rid of this gap then this hub should fit 135mm or 136mm dropouts...

Bafang 24v 200W motor info needed

Ok, I've got a 36h rim now and am calculating the spoke lengths, but while measuring the hub it turns out the width of the hub between the dropouts is 142mm, 7 mm too wide for my bike. Now, is there a way of reducing the width somehow? Can I do up this nut on the non drive side somehow in...

    Aluminum fork w/ front hub

Is running an Alu front fork with torque arms considered OK? I'm running a low power front hub motor setup with an Alu front fork, and have had no problems so far. Do you tend to get more problems with 1kw+? I do have steel front forks that I can use if I need to. Thanks

    Voltmeter - a must have

Thanks, it looks like I may have another week to wait, but I'm also waiting for some other parts also maybe I'll take bets on which parts arrive first. ;) Nice idea with the DIY thread. Right now my handlebars are a total mess due to having so many things mounted, and wires are everywhere...

Bafang 24v 200W motor info needed

Thanks, I've found the thread you're referring to, it's rather long but full of useful info. It seems that Sapim make special spoke nipples that allow 13g spokes to be used in rim holes designed for 14g nipple holes, so I think I may go with plain 13 gauge spokes and see how it goes.
