    LightningRods mid drive kit

WOW! Such a passionate discussion about bolts and screws. Had me laughing pretty good, honestly. As someone who has worked almost 15 yrs in the machining trade, I can tell you that most design are iteration of the initial idea. If a weekness presents itself, the design is rev’d up to the next...

    LightningRods mid drive kit

Ok great! A few more questions for you... Have you run this motor with the Adaptto controller? I'm asking because the bike has that controller presently? I am a firmly believer in overbuilding things and making sure that the craftsmanship is done right. With that said I would be most...

    LightningRods mid drive kit

I have one of the Enduro frames from EM3. I would love to get this setup for that frame. Separate chains for motor and pedal input is really the best idea I have seen with mid-drive systems in a while. What would a full build of parts cost?

Hey LightningRods, I have a raptor 140 that I would love to convert to a big block kit. How is your conversion coming along? Any pics, info available?

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

Yes, end of day was 8 miles on Sinewave. Ran much better than my previous outing. I feel things could be tuned better still, but it is usable. I was able to apply power for much longer before thermal role back kicked in. I will try to come up with a tuning method. Changing one setting on...

    Adaptto Charge Coil questions

I was wandering if anyone with more technical expertise could explain how Adaptto's Charging system works. I'm not looking for trade secrets here, just general principles. For my system, I am presently charging with a 36V power supply. The Battery Voltage has to climb to 83V to reach full...

Here are the numbers I got with the autodetect set to square wave. I will ride to work tomorrow to test. Angle corr. +0.48deg Angle corr2. 0.00deg Ind timing. 270uS PWR timing. +0.51 PWR time 2. +0.51 Hall Offset. 60deg Good news! Test ride was successful at these settings. Granted, I...

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

Seven, Busy weekend... Sorry to get back to you so late. Those look a lot better than my original numbers. I switched to Square Wave, reran the Autodetect and was able to get similar numbers as these. I don't know if that was just it being a coincidental rerun, or if switching made a...

The Cycle Satiator, universal charger for the enthusiasts

Hmm... Would this charger work with the Adaptto system? It uses a Coil and the positive line runs through a phase lead of the controller to control charge. So you can use a 36V or 48V supply to charge an 80V battery pack. Just thinking out loud here. If so, what profile would be most...

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

My Motor is the TC100. Autodetect "Worked" on the newest firmware, and the bike is technically usable. BUT, the problem is that autodetect won't find the angles well enough. It will overheat (controller) and dial back power very often. This was during cool winter days in California. I can't...

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

I got the crown last year from a guy who was going to do a build and never got around to it. At the time it looked like a good deal, getting 80% of the cromotor performance for 1/2 the price. Now I will lace a Cromotor into a moped rim, but it still sucks to get a build 98% done... Only to...

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

I know what you mean... After you invest a lot of money, it sucks to hear of an incompatibility. These motors and controllers are not cheap. I'm just hoping I can get the Max-E fixed. I can demote the Crown to an infinion controller for the time being and begin building a Cromotor.

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

I received the following email from support: ****************************************************** Dear Rich, You need to measure voltage between power ground and halls ground while hall sensor is connected. If voltage is more then 1V, means there was a short circuit of hall wires to somewhere...

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

I was beginning to come to this conclusion as well. On version 8 of the firmware, auto detect was terrible with the crown. It detected the 60deg offset, but then the fine adjustment was all the way to the 30s. On the newest firmware, for the mini (max was dead), I was getting only like 5deg...

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

Ran the Mini-E to work today, and had a few thoughts. The mini seems to pack quite a punch for it's size, so no complaints there, but it just seems to not really handle pushing power for long. I see thermal roll back quite often. On a 2-3% grade, I was doing 1000-1200W and that was maxed out...

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

I am really not sure if I need to be changing the R113 as Voltage supply for the Halls is good. 4.64V on pin 6,5. I see on Crea2k3's photo below that he had a much lower voltage. If the R113 is blown, wouldn't voltage be lower?

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

I will test the LED tonight when I charge again. I checked the cell voltages on the Adaptto display after the bike balanced for 10 minutes (charger off) and they looked nicely balanced. Thing is, I don't know if that cell was pushed over the balance threshold all that much. Madin88, this is...

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

Newest firmware fixed the auto detect issue. The bike is running pretty good now. Wish it was the Max-E, but the mini will have to do for now. Did my first coil charge tonight. Works great. Noticed that one LED on the BMS doesn't lite up, even though all cells were over the balance...

Has anyone successfully run a Crystalite Crown motor with the Adaptto? Seems like calibration is way off. The Mini-E was over heating in less than 1/2 a mile. Had to switch to Sensorless to get to work. Then it ran cool. Upgrading to newest firmware presently, will try that next

So, I found out the motor Halls and Phase leads are ok. There is definitely something wrong with the controller though. I switched to my mini-E and everything is working again. Well auto detect is no good with this motor.
