Throttle Master (Throttle Remapping and Filtering tool)

Would be great if you posted more build details. I'm interested in building something equivalent.

Mellow out throttle without sacrificing full throttle?

I just found this thread. Something like this is probably the simplest solution: https://endless-sphere.com/sphere/threads/barron-greigs-throttle-remapper.107047/

Mellow out throttle without sacrificing full throttle?

Is there an analog way to mellow out a throttle without sacrificing full throttle (like adding a resistor would?). My setup is quite jumpy in the first 1/3 of the throttle, but I can't think of a way to reduce the voltage in this range without reducing full throttle. Unfortunately I do not have...

    Q100 - Q100H - Q100C - what is the difference?

Which controller is this exactly? I'm looking for a 48v controller compatible with a Q100H motor.

Q100H And Q128H Upgrades For Durability

What controller exactly are you using? I'm looking to upgrade the controller for my Q100H to 48V. I probably don't want to run that many watts but if I could limit the current, your controller should work great.

controller for running Q100H at 48 volts, and motor maintenance

How do you twist off the cover? I tried putting longer bolts into the three screw holes to torque against, but the bolts just bent and the cover didn't budge at all. I'm pretty sure it's the controller overheating. It gets too hot to touch, like hot enough to fry an egg. It doesn't turn off...

controller for running Q100H at 48 volts, and motor maintenance

I've been quite happy using my Q100H (front wheel motor) for the last few years with the controller it came with from bmsbattery.com (S06S), but now I'd like to change the controller to run on 48V. I want a new controller for 3 reasons: first I'd like to get a better battery and have it work on...

Cute Q100H - not reassembling properly...

How did you get it apart? I have a Q100H front wheel motor that I wanted to disassemble for maintenance. After 2500 miles It's sounding slightly louder and feels like it's running rougher than when it was new, so maybe some cleaning and greasing is called for. I can't figure out how to get it...

controller with PAS input customizable via 3 way switch?

I'm looking for a 48V controller for either 20 or 30 amps (depending on which motor it drives) with inputs for PAS (and throttle of course) that can be customized with a 3 way switch. I want the 3 way switch to control overall power (or speed limiter would be OK I guess) and to enable PAS. So...

    Another No Solder/Weld 18650 Build (Updated 03/09/2014)

Did a tiny bit more reading, and PETG (with Glycol) is actually softer and stickier than PET, but worksalot better with FDM. This means I indeed want ABS. Also I have a much updated model, now made with parametric modeling so cell configuration can be changed nearly effortlessly...

    Another No Solder/Weld 18650 Build (Updated 03/09/2014)

I was very close to ordering a set of N.E.S.E. modules from http://18650.lt/ but they're pretty expensive and I'd still need to make some sort of enclosure for the BMS. So I decided to build something very similar to patrickb (thanks for your post!). Here's the model I have so far: I have two...

    Another No Solder/Weld 18650 Build (Updated 03/09/2014)

I like this design and would like to do something similar. Could you tell me more about the springs? Where exactly did you source them? Also, what's the thickness of the acrylic (I assume) and how deep are the cell holes? What exact diameter did you make the cell holes? I'm guessing something...

Q100H Performance with Grin/Infineon Controller Issue

This is good to hear. I've been running my Q100H at the recommended 36V and ~20A for a few years. I'm seriously considering upgrading the controllers and batteries on both my ebikes to 52 volts with programmable power limits. It would be really nice to have interchangeable parts, and a little...

Booster winding for efficient large RPM range

While riding my local electric train with ebike on board and thinking about tradeoffs with different windings, inspiration struck. I see little reason to stick with one speed of winding. I knew the engineering must be out there, and sure enough, it's called a booster winding, and surprisingly...

Cheap USB power adapter for any battery under 60V

Good point, I'll edit the OP subject. I don't see the point in going over 60V myself.

Cheap USB power adapter for any battery under 60V

There's this really nifty DC DC converter with 2 USB plugs on Amazon for only 13$! Actually my friend got 3 of them, and I soldered two into Anderson plugs, and the third directly onto a battery. Although rated at 50V, I tested one at 59V and a few watts for a couple hours. It got warm but...

    Super cheap 18 watt headlight

I got this 13$ 18 watt LED motorcycle headlight from Amazon and soldered a 2.1x5mm female power connector (also from Amazon) on it. It took me a while to figure out a reflector bracket worked great for mounting to my mountain size handlebars. The bracket that came with it was useless. I was...

Mac motor making clunking noise and not spinning

I guess it's quite likely the clutch. I can hear the motor spinning, and each time there's a loud clunk, the wheel lurches a bit. Seems like it happens once per clutch revolution.

Mac motor making clunking noise and not spinning

I'm running it sensorless to test it. It was working without Hall sensors before, it would simply cut out at a fairly low RPM. Using 40 amp Grifineon controller. This really seems like a mechanical problem.

Mac motor making clunking noise and not spinning

I'm trying to trouble shoot a mac motor which previously had been working. There are very few miles on this motor. After working on a battery issue and testing the system, the motor started to make a loud clunking sound and not spinning. It jerks a bit and makes maybe an eighth turn each time...

yet another solderless DIY battery pack via NIB's

Actually, according to this research paper which is studying NCM cells, the sweet spot for longevity is actually 2C: http://www3.aiche.org/proceedings/content/Annual-2013/extended-abstracts/P314218.pdf That means the ideal discharge rate for 4p 3Ah cells in a typical ~50V pack is 1200W :). On...

    Another No Solder/Weld 18650 Build (Updated 03/09/2014)

After days of searching for a simple BMS with adjustable or 3 and 4-4.1 LVC and HVC respectively that did balancing before 4.2V, I concluded there are none. This is the only thing that's readily available and will definitely do the job, about $150...

Maybe 2 megawatt motor? (Motor porn)

Hahaha, that's in the motor room of the Sally Ride research vessel on its maiden voyage. I've got a friend who's a systems engineer who maintains those engines and basically deals with anything that breaks on the boat, and he gave me a midnight tour when it was docked in San Francisco Bay. Check...

Maybe 2 megawatt motor? (Motor porn)

There's 2 of these guys, one on each side, driven by 4 750 kW generators. Check out the size of those power cables... bigger than my leg. The motor is about 8-10 feet long :).
