You might want to check the stock Voloci throttle output Voltage. It seems to me that they have ONE Hall Sensor that puts out about half of the 5V. Since Nova Cruz/Voloci made their own controller, they could use any Voltage they wanted. Maybe Halls were expensive back in 2001? The Kelly...

This may be a bit late to help with the elimination of the wire harness connectors that you just did. Still, maybe someday if you run into a problem, the schematic MIGHT help.

Your last picture with the battery cover installed looks great. The cover looks very nice just barely sticking above the Voloci frame. Your cut off battery case is about like the SLA Battery Cover on the SLA version of the Voloci. The SLA version was cheaper but seems more rare than the...

If you had the headlight/turn signal mounting bracket, there is a guy on eBay (mopedmart) selling Voloci Headlights and Voloci Turnsignals. He is also selling handlebar switches. At one point, he had Voloci mirrors. He also had some stuff that didn't go on ebay...like sprockets, chains, seats...

I bought a NOS Voloci in the box from an ex-dealer. The bike had never been run (in 11+ years) and was 100% stock. On the first ride or two, one magnet came off. The bike had faster takeoff than other Volocis, so I was thinking maybe this was old firmware code (pre 3.12). Not sure if the faster...

A company called Kanda.com has a "Keyfob Programmer" that can directly flash the Voloci firmware. Their site says that they will preload the firmware if you buy the Keyfob. The idea is that this is a one-step process without having to involve computers and other hardware/software. These guys...

The Voloci uses a lot of Tomos or other off the shelf moped parts. They also have several special parts like frame and seat and swing arm. The front forks are bicycle as are the disc brakes. The controller is custom and the firmware is available on line. There is separate company that made a...

I added insulation to the terminals so it is less likely that they will arc to the case as I am assembling it. Andersons for Positive and Negative and no connection for the thermistor contact (no thermistor in the Li battery pack). I included the thermistor contact anyway to close off the pack...

It all fit. I shortened some leads but need some length for a "service loop" to allow for assembly/disassembly. The wires can tuck up neatly in the area above the packs or at the ends of the packs where the terminals are. I added PowerPoles between the packs and the terminals since I don't...

Making some progress... the two 37V LiPO packs are working fine on the bench into a 20A load. Parallelled the inputs and paralleled the outputs. I bought an 8A Li charger and put a mating connector on it. I put the packs back to back with the leads coming out at the far ends. I taped the...

I would keep the RST's for sentimental reasons, if I keep them. The Avids are very nice. I tried Avid BB7's with a 200mm rotor and thought it was too powerful and went to 180mm. The RSTs were just too slow to slow me. MAYBE newer tech pads PLUS a pro-bike shop to dial them in will work...I dunno...

I got two lithium batteries from All-Battery/Tenergy and they fit into an empty Voloci battery case with a bit of room left over for wiring! Yippeee! So far, the plan is to change out the battery case charge connector to a Canon type so I don't use my NiMH charger by mistake (and vice versa)...

Several bicycle websites say that the RST brakes aren't very good but can be improved by adjustment and possibly by higher quality pads. Looks like several people make pads for RST brakes. Looks like the brakes are "DA".

For what it is worth, I found some Sintered brake pads that I bought a long time ago when I was trying to save the Voloci RST disc brakes. They are OBE-DR01T. I say "for what its worth" because I never installed them so don't know anything about their performance. They are from F1 Performance...

I was thinking of having both sprockets on the same side, but tradition would have them on opposite sides, with the shaft running across the bike. I was thinking of a stub shaft with 2 sprockets. But, since the distance from center of motor to jack shaft would be very short, I'd consider gears...

I feel like the year is slipping by and haven't done much on the Voloci except think a lot and buy a few parts. The Voloci is supposed to be 1500W, The controller is supposed to be limited to 40A (I heard) and the stock 36V pack has a 40A fuse (the SLA version has a 50A fuse). I know that you...

How's the Voloci progress? I liked what you did with the other bike, where you added a long swing arm and put the motor near the pivot point. You created a kind of "power wheel" but with less mass at the long end of the swing arm as compared to a hub motor. I am rethinking of replacing my...

I don't know of a rolling diameter chart. Doesn't mean it isn't out there, but I don't know of one. I have the stock Savas (MC11, 2-1/4 X 17), Michelin Gazelles (M62, 2.25 X 17) and trail tires, Shinko Golden Boy (SR244, 2.50 X 17). The trail tires are tallest tires I have. In addition to...

Exactly right: BatterySpace made the 48V battery. They also make a 36V battery that will fit in the stock Voloci metal battery case. Its tight (as was the original SAFT battery pack), but it fits. Both the 48V and 36V had thermistor wires run separately out of the pack and all connections are...

I kept my Voloci Tomos hand controls and just used different cable-operated brakes. I used Avid BB7 180 mm. No complaints about Avid BB7s.

I never had much luck with the stock Voloci brakes. I swapped mine out for Avid BB7 180 mm and they work great. I tried 200mm Avids but they seemed too powerful at maybe 25 mph! I bought some aftermarket brake pads for the stock brakes but never did put them on so don't know if that would fix...

The ebay guy does have a shop in NJ. He bought all the Voloci moped stuff when they out of business. He sells the same stuff week after week on ebay but he has wheels and seats and other Voloci parts that don't make it to ebay. He says he has a lot of Voloci wheels. I don't ever get rid of...

I bought a set of wheels from Stevil_Knevil. Per his suggestion, put on the Michelin moped tires. Put on a 180mm Avid disc. AND, unbelievably, when I bought some parts from MopedMart on ebay, MopedMart threw in a bunch of extra parts, one of which was the rear sprocket! MopedMart has much of...
