Amazing stat, Bill. It was your posts here that convinced me to buy the Logan. I have not been able to contribute anything as we have been in Europe since June, but will be back in PR (and riding again) in September. Have seen a few e-Bikes, most of them with a front hub motor.

You can also 'downshift' when you're stopped, too.

Only if you're on a hill. I have no trouble starting off from the high gear setting on level ground by first pressing the throttle button next to the controller and then pedalling. It will be interesting to compare your experience with mine when you get your Logan. Warren

Thanks for following up on this with Nuvinci, Glen. I think that a higher wattage motor would work OK with the following caveat.... don't try to shift from full high into a lower ratio when there is a lot of pressure being exerted on the crank. The first day I had the bike, I found riding up a...

Thanks for getting this info Glen. The Nuvinci is perfect for me as I do not want to bother fiddling with gears. As all my rides are less than 20km return, I always have the controller setting at 5, which allows me to tootle along comfortably, with pedalling, at about 35 kmh. I have not tried...

Bill, did you change the J-LCD speed limit from 32 to 40kmh? I had the same frustration re the extra effort involved as soon as you exceeded 32kmh, until I read an early post from 'magic carpet' where he mentioned changing the speed controller from 32kmh to 40kmh. I haven't experimented with...

I realize you are directing your question to Bill, but I'll add my 2¢ worth. All my riding so far has been on paved roads. I find the gearing at the top end fine, but as I mentioned in an earlier post, only after I 'maxed out' the throttle limiter to 40kmh. At a comfortable pedalling rate for...

Here is a comprehensive review of the Nuvinci (not mine). http://forums.mtbr.com/internal-gear-hubs/nuvinci-n360-amateur-review-663451.html I experienced the same frustration initially e.g. trying to shift under load, that the reviewer describes. Not sure if this is what you are experiencing.

Sorry to hear that Bill. My Nuvinci continues to work flawlessly. Hope the fix is a simple one. I did find that the battery required a few discharge/charge cycles before the range improved.

The spec sheet says 2450grams, which sounds a lot lighter than 5.4 lb. However, I don't think that it is noticeable when you're riding. The gear doesn't require any power. You'll find full details on the Fallbrook site. http://www.fallbrooktech.com/cycling/n360. In my opinion, its worth the...

Here is the 'High gear' setting and the 'Low gear setting'. This is infinitely variable from High to Low with a twist of the grip. The black section on the handle bar is the 'gear changer'

Pictures as promised. You will notice the absence of a derailleur. The battery is well balanced and does not get in the way when pedalling. The battery locks on to a frame attachment. There is also an on/off switch. (Little green thing at the bottom of the battery.) There is also a button at the...

I picked up my Logan two weeks ago and as a casual rider & a long time retiree, I can attest that you have made a wise choice GlenT. From a non-rider for the last few years, I have already put on 83km in less than 2 weeks. (I have no intention of trying to emulate WASYLBRYTAN) - though I agree...

Got my place names mixed up. I meant the Logan. (Mt. Logan is in the Yukon, BTW!!) The bike will be ready this Friday (May 10th) , but I won't be in Vancouver again until the 23rd, so you should have a demo prior to that. I assume you'll start a new thread devoted to the Logan.

Hello wasylbrytan. Just wondering how the Whistler is performing with all the great weather we've been having for the last couple of weeks. I am picking up a Yukon next week with a Nuvinci 360 hub.
