    how come motor disconnect while pedaling?

    How come the motor disconnect while pedaling or rolling without pedaling, is there some kind electric switch or something inside the motor? I would like to use the motor for electrical braking however it seems it is electrically disconnected when rolling, I wonder how it manages to do that??

    torque data for motors

    I am trying to understand the different ebikes and options that there are but I cannot find data for the motors. Have you seen torque/current characteristics for the different motors? Or are there motor parameters availble, Ld, Lq and Psi_m? I would like a motor which can produce 300Nm @ 100rpm...
