Post Your Electric Longboard or Electric Mountainboard Build

I think it's great! Tried both back wheel and front wheel and the ride felt much smoother and it was easier both to break and steer when the power/breaking came from the front. I think it might depend on the board also, with my previous it felt better with rear wheel.

Finally got everything to work and got a new deck! Even managed to get a Wii controller to work with Arduino Micro Pro, still many adjustments before the code is ready but should be done within a week or so. Here are some images: Close-up of the electronics box Even closer on the...

Wii Nunchuck with Arduino Pro Micro

Ahh! Didn't think of that, attaching it to the VCC will give me 3.3V without having to pull up a pin to high. Been googling a bit and it seems like the ESC hopefully can identify 3.3V as a high and it doesn't have to be a 5V board. Ordered me a 3.3V board so we'll just have to see if it works!

Wii Nunchuck with Arduino Pro Micro

I simply picked the pin 5 because it's close and a "PWR" pin and I suppose I can then make it output 3.3V which would power the Wii-adapter. Where is the onboard voltage regulator?

Changed the image now in the original post. Does it look now like it would work?

Wii Nunchuck with Arduino Pro Micro

Great! Thanks a lot! I will add that to the orginal picture and update it. Will the ESC still be able get a good signal from it if I go down to 3.3V/8 MHz?

Exactly the same problem! Never tried to measure any voltage dependence other than to make sure the cells were at ~4.2V. Also got it to work without discharging it a bit, just turned it on and as soon as the identification of 6S cell is complete, full throttle for 1-2 seconds and then it works...

Wii Nunchuck with Arduino Pro Micro

I've been looking into making a Wii Nunchuck work with a Arduino Pro Micro board. Been reading some and come up with something that I think might work. The base of it all would be an Arduino Pro Micro 5.5V/16 MHz powered by the BEC from my HK150A High Performance ESC (Which finally works...)...

You were (almost) absolutely right Psychotiller. Finally got everything to work again and the ESC wasn't broken, just some small bugs. The primary problem was that one of the fabric soldered connectors to the engine was bad and it was literally hanging by a thread. Re-soldered it and after a...

When it's on the bench with full throttle, don't think I can measure the voltage while riding it. But does that matter when the ESC shows low voltage even when it's on the bench and I can measure 25.1 at the base of the ESC? Saw now that one connector to the motors was hanging by one thread, so...

Done some measurements and testing now. The voltage is 25.2V both at the connector and at the base of the ESC. It drops down to 25.1V during load (The 3 seconds when it goes to max...) at both points. Tried with two other batteries that was balance charged, same there. And still they work just...

How's that possible? I've used the batteries like one should...It worked just perfectly on my way home, and when I got home, recharged the batteries and it didn't work again...Is there any way to fix this?

Okay so I finally got it all put together and working nicely...for a while. All of a sudden the ESC starts to complain that two fully charged 3s 5000 mAh in series have low battery...I tried them separately and no problem there is only when in they are in series. Is it possible that the series...

Finally 4 out of 5 packages has arrived! Only the mount parts from Alien drive left. Looked something like this on my desk earlier: Soldered some 4mm contacts to the ESC, hooked everything up to a fully charged 3s 5000 mAh battery and started the transmitter. And to my surprise, everything...

RC Lipo pack inspection, series/parallel charging, and lifespan/safety tips

Are the balance wires the ones connected to the JST plug or the i.e 4mm bullet connector? Got me one of these, suppose that would work with the appropriate charger and 4mm series adaptor?

HK150A High performance ESC and Quanum 2.4GHz pistol grip

I just bought a Hobbyking 150A High performance ESC and a Quanum 2.4GHz Pistol grip and I tried to check their compability but had not much to go on other than that it was the correct BEC voltage and 3A. I have tried finding answers on other places but can't seem to find any. Will they work...

No no, just 2 packs side by side and the ESC in front of them. The other two I'll keep in my backpack so I can just swap them. Was thinking of 2 6s batteries but it would get too thick and I want a low profile longboard.

So the gearing also effect the power consumption and not just torque/speed? I mean doesn't it all comes down to how much effect the engine uses over a certain time + heat from ESC, batterys etc (perhaps that is not a big factor).

    Tallahau electric longboard build

My lack of mechanical skills are really starting to show now. If I want to maximize the range, does it matter which type of engine I use or simply how I use it? And should I choose gears regarding if I want power or range too?

The mount is no problem, already fixed that. Just looking for a cog-wheel/pulley for the Abec11 wheel. Something like: but with a specified belt width and amount of teeth. Do you sell that too perhaps?
