    Thanks all Some cells are at 2+ volts, and I suspect those would be OK. Most of the other are at 0.4-0.6volts (due to the way the balancer draws its power) its a bit of a pain! I may drag it out of the garage, to somehwere more safe and see how it goes. Some interesting reading here...

    So far, its still going well! The fan is really really noisy, and even when its 5degrees C, seems to ramp up quickly. I max it out at 25 amps @ 100v (240V input) without any issues.

    The problem is, that during regen, I allow cell voltages to go to 4.19 per cell. At the moment I charge to 4.15v per cell with 28S (116.2). I may be persuaded to use a sevcon as it seems like it would work. Could you give me assistance on programming?

    Yes exactly that. You may find that the controller you are using has a maximum voltage that is much higher than the 72v nominal. You could always just not wire into one of the 4s modules but you would be carrying around a battery that you are not using.

    I would have much rather gone with a sevcon, or something that actually puts out its rated output without blowing up.
