This bike shreds downhill! Not so much uphill though. I think I've got the wrong phase/Hall combo for this motor so it definitely feels sluggish after its Hall sensor repair. I think a mid drive is in the future for this bike as I love how light this bike feels when riding.

    new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Putting the motor inside the battery space would require frame modification. I think the cyclone is too big to do that comfortably. There is an ebike for sale local to me that has done just that though and the frame looks really good! Mounting the motor underneath is a different story and the...

    new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Alright I'm here to voice my opinions before joining the cyclone cult with my FUTR beta. I will first fix my bmc v4 and it's little hall sensor issue and sell it off for a tiny fraction of what I paid for it and trade that cash in for a cyclone mid drive. I've got quite a few questions though...

Hey Swe, Coil Shocks don't usually develop squeaking sounds like air shocks tend to but you can usually get a little clue as to what's going on inside the shock from the sound. Whether it's displaced fluid or it's just coming from the mounting points of the shock. If it feels fine I wouldn't...

I found my problem a little while ago... Could someone please point me to the proper hall sensors for a BMC V4 pleeease :) whether or not any generic sensor will work or not is beyond me. I just know I'll need a new one. I guess it's time for me to go dig around a bmc thread. On brighter news...

The only thing I can imagine is that I blew a Mosfet in the controller after initially wiring everything and hopping on to try and scoot around :( A little too zealous with the throttle when it wasn't set up properly could have done it so we'll see. Edit: Multimeter says Im fine. More...

I'm so close to getting my bike up and running but after fighting with it for two hours I'm lost. It's wired exactly the same as my phasor but I'm still fighting the motor hall setup. I spent a long time resoldering hall sensors etc and I'm losing my mind trying to get it to run. After doing...

FUTR Beta with Lightning Rods Mid Drive

Alrighty I'm interested now then... I have the same exact frame. I've got a 42v 30ah pack I want to use with a mid drive. My battery likes high amps but I could rewire it if I really needed too (higher voltage). How many amps could be run through this system? Peak/continuous a rough estimate...

FUTR Beta with Lightning Rods Mid Drive

With the so called concentric bottom bracket of the Beta were you worried of any possible binding or friction caused by the side mounting plates? There is only a small contact patch before it gets to the c clips of the bearings etc. No friction from attaching the drive like this afterwards?

FUTR Beta with Lightning Rods Mid Drive

That makes everything a lot simpler to understand. I was wondering why it was sitting out like that. Anyways, since you put this together can I ask what voltage and amps PRW planned to run this bike at? Also if you could give me a full quote of this system :) i've got the same exact frame and...

FUTR Beta with Lightning Rods Mid Drive

So with the way it is setup it definitely looks single speed. What's the outside sprocket for in that case? Do you manually swap the chain to that ring for a different gear ratio? That seems like a real hassle if that's the case :)

Hey now. That's the frame I wanted    It's very much my style I love it, want my cranks to match? I'll send them over.

Eye candy That fits amazing in there. Really great work you did there CD I'm envious :) What motor/watts are you planning on running with that big thing? Sorry if that question has been asked a hundred times!

I didn't get to ride my bike yet unfortunately. I'm having headset issues. I'll be installing an entirely new headset tomorrow and then and then I will sort out the brake as well. Also I believe I'm having another hall sensor issue. I soldered one of my motor hall sensors into the wrong...

I really like the silver frame. Sorry to hear about the stripped bolts on the drop out too. What a pita. I've been working through my build every chance I get, these bikes take a lot of time to put together. With all those chainrings will you be running a derailleur on the bike? You said it had...

I am almost done finally :) I need to bleed the rear brake and then get a drill bit large enough to install the charge port on the sidepanel! Everything is nice and snug now!

I only run 1500-2000 watts through my little bmc v4 and it's great. If I want to run more I'll definitely just switch the motor though. My v4 is still in really good shape and I plan on keeping it that way.

My charging cables was soldered directly to the charge port. I'll go get more push on crimps in that case. I like that concept more then having to reach under the frame to charge the battery.

Perth Build #2 - FUTR Beta

Now you just need the pedals and the seat! That looks awesome really great work there! I like the detachable 5 pin motor cable idea too! I can only imagine it would be hell to solder though like you said.

Gotta question. You drilled into the side cover and put the charge port there Perth. How do you remove the side panels now?

Didn't mean to put you on the spot I only ask because my circle is atrocious and I'm too embarassed to post any photos of it. I got the hole about centered where I want it though now so maybe I will just find my step drill bit or buy another one to run the wires through smoother. There's no...

Cricket your build is awesome. Those brakes and rotors look mighty expensive also  and your hub motor has a mohawk haha! Do we get to see any riding vids once it's complete? I plan on buying a bike rack to haul around my beta once I'm done. Just looked again and I'm curious which rear...

That's a really badass helmet. I want it now... Dot approved? It might be heavier than I'd like. I have a bell transfer 9 but I also use it for bmx and dirt jumping.
