Real spot welding machines. Which is the better deal ?

The US Solid is made in china by SUNKKO and you can get it unbranded at Alibaba directly from the manufacturer or AliExpress from a dropshipper. Vevor is SUNKKO brand as well. Also, look at the SUNKKO, all the circuit boards are available for repair (AliExpress) and you can actually build your...

Common pack design mistakes, how to avoid?

You don't have to do a 20*6, you can do a 20*2x3 and get the same result. I did this with my 14*2x3 pack and got a perfit 1:1 power share, using nickel STRIPS .... your using sheet so it matters not.

Can you see anything wrong with this pack build?

Not my build or bike, I'm doing this and sending the link to the guy that built it as he thinks there is nothing wrong with his build. He really enjoys showing it off and is proud of his work, so much so he's helping people do their own builds the cost effective way. 1) No vulcanised fish paper...

what is the consequence of non pure nickel

I had put in a 36 hr shift when I wrote that, I was just going to bed, whatevvvver.

what is the consequence of non pure nickel

Functional metal. Any venting that a cell can potentially do will corrode the steel under the nickel plating. Any fingerprints will corrode the steel under the nickel plating. After corrosion starts, heat builds up in the area and more corrosion starts until it burns through. Always use pure...

    Safety Power Switch suggestion

:bigthumb: BRILLIANT! .... I never thought of this! And I still can have the on/off light with the 110V self locking flat switch. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32996630889.html?spm=2114.12010612.8148356.17.5c7e645fbI9Za4

    BATTERY FIRE

Any sort of bad wiring causing some type of short. I saved my 14*6 by building with dime tubes as insulators, tightly wrapped the pack with Kapton tape, insulated under and over each wire run. The SPS fuked up, the 3rd one, its a cheap knockoff of the original...

    Safety Power Switch suggestion

That is my pack build ... So you appear to be clueless as to the proper building of a pack with your original statement ... But I don't expect too much from ignorant people that lives in Calgary ... This is why I live in Edmonton, better hockey and football and educated people.

    Safety Power Switch suggestion

Was riding on a smooth road surface using throttle. Lost power to about 50%. Completely last power, came to a stop. Saw smoke coming from the battery compartment, pulled the pack out. This is the 3rd SPS that has failed and LUNA, this is a cheap knockoff of the original...

Even shark packs have an on/off switch ... Might be time to cannibalize an old pack.

What?! .... Are you talking about, my pack build?! You should hold off on comments like that and ask questions 1st.

    Safety Power Switch suggestion

This is my 3rd LUNA SPS and 2nd 52V pack due to them burning up. Anything other than this or the Vedder available? I just cant afford to keep building new packs.

    Air gap between cells

Your really are trying to prevent thermal runaway, I'm assuming. So anything, any thickness, even the use of toothpick wedges will help mitigate neighbouring thermal runaway. Any pressure on a can causing a dent will cause a hot spot in the battery. Any battery that cause heat to build in any 1...

How much resistance needed for parallel connections between 18650 cells

You want lower resistance, not higher when balancing a P, and it doesn't take very much, and some are using sheet nickle rather than strips so you kinda get the idea here....More is less. You might want to design your pack to something more efficient. I ended up doing a 14S3P x2 to build my pack...

Spot welder doesn't work with 0.15mm pure nickel

Does not trip the house breaker, It's a microsecond of pulse, nothing really for draw. I've changed from strips to .01 sheet, other than eSk8 packs, that are flat. I might make a length of wire for the hand piece with 6awg high temp silicone wire. It might perform better than the stock OFC...
