    I understood it that the limit is permanent, that is to say the limit is active no matter what the rpm, but I see what you mean; the "high speed" is confusing.

    Thanks for the positive feedback. Have just tested this and can confirm that it throws an error if it starts up with 0v when in 1-4v mode.

    I don't know about your specific controller, but the one I'm using has onboard variable regen which requires a 0-5v brake lever (or potentiometer). The harder you press the brakes, the more regen you get.

    Some potentiometers have a switch, you'll notably hear it clicking into the Off position when turned all the way counter clockwise. All of the ones that I have seen have 5 wires. Ground, pos, and signal as normal, plus another two wires for On/Off.
