Can a basic CCCV power source be left connected to a Li-ion battery with BMS?

I have not read this above in detail, but it the telecom space we do have some systems running 14S "floating" on the exchange voltage of 54V 24/7, usually loaded with the LG 1500ma cells. They need to carry a load for about 3min before the gen kicks in. Though the enginers running the show say...

One seater mini electric jet boat

I have been following a few youtube builders of jets for a while YOUNGSTERS JETS worth a look. Jet Surfboards as well. The reality is it takes a lot of power to drive a boat at speed. Battery won't take long to deplete. I have a SS motor (56123 KV500) that I hope to run high volts and gear...

MXUS 3K + KELLY KLS Controller Help

Not a very lively forum these days. :( From what i have read regarding 3500mah they just don't cycle that well with a high discharge rate, their DC impedance goes up quickly. I ended up with 18650PF 16S7P with a 50amp BMS for that very reason, though it is only peaking 3Kw into a 500W GM The...

NCMA A new break through every week I know https://www.greencarcongress.com/2019/07/20190714-svolt.html BUT now SVOLT are claiming they will be shipping next year https://insideevs.com/news/424185/svolt-cobalt-free-li-ion-battery/ I assume the insideevs is getting their content from...

    Building A Ludicrous 14s2p SPIM08hp battery

In comparison my method is as rough as guts. Tested 3 random cells with a boost converter load. They happly supplied 18amps for some time, before the boost converter started to have issues as the voltage went below 11 Volts. Stopped the discharge at 6AH (3.43V per cell very closely matched...

    Building A Ludicrous 14s2p SPIM08hp battery

Hi Ron, Yeap all done bar the hub sinks. Can't remember if the gm is a 28mm or 35mm sator but it still suits me travel wise at 60V. 20Ah18650PF Beyond 18cells I keep the controller speed switch at one else it just runs on the current limit the whole time. Torque at 22 cells is just not there...

    Building A Ludicrous 14s2p SPIM08hp battery

The imax is like any lipo hobby charger, it won't do anything without the balance lead. Yeah they stick at 3.6V for quite some time, hope to test a few today at 10 amps and see what the watt hours look like.

    Building A Ludicrous 14s2p SPIM08hp battery

Adding to the SPIM08HP picture. I received 40 cells from batteryhookup a couple of days ago (12AUD shipped), well packed and no puff's and nothing bent. First cell managed nearly 7ah discharge (4.2 to 3V at one amp) and 7.3ah to get the juce back in. (3amp charge). Second cell looks the same...

battery boosting with small solar charger?

Hmm I understand what your doing but it would have been more efficient to just reconfigure the "6s 8p" into 18s 2p and then parallel it to your existing battery. Of course you lose flexibility to boost your other toys. I envy your available time

battery boosting with small solar charger?

I had the 7210a and it is limited to a 10amp input. Mine is fully dead after been in service for 4 months boosting 120w (18V)solar into 6 old lipo's. (To then run a 24V inverter to run a pump on an aquaponics setup. ) The more voltage you have on the input the more watts you can boost. Eg...

    Greentime controllers

After poking Leo , thinking i'm going to have to swap a SMD resistor. Turns out the 2019 controller just has a link to put in to nominate a battery voltage. Selection available 60, 64, 72 or 80 volts. Tested the 60 volts and it now does regen, CA reckons -19 amps. Few pictures of the 15fet...

Solar Panel to charge a 52v 13.5 ah battery pack?

Horses for courses. In my case I elaborated here https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=76122#p1214531 Confirmed the 7210 seems to be limited to 10amps in. The 7210 set at 31volt input and 48volt output hooked up to 2X250W pannels (parallel) full sun. The 7210 lets the panel...

Solar Panel to charge a 52v 13.5 ah battery pack?

Input limited to 10amps is a bit sad :( If you tell the unit that your solar panel runs best at 17 v it should get a better power transfer. Though series is a better plot, it won't need to work as hard at boosting.

Another home storage battery option emerges.

I'm guessing that's 10000 Kw hours give or take. I was commenting on the cost of shuffling Kw in the redflow batt I just don't think it will be economic at the micro scale. Nothings is %100 efficient but the deal your on sounds pretty good and fair enough that you consider it as 100% from your...

Solar Panel to charge a 52v 13.5 ah battery pack?

Thanks, Found that after I posted question. :) , think I have seen Julian before reviewing some fake MPPT's. So I ordered one. :D Hope it does well with 2X250W panels in parallel, boosting the Optimum power voltage of 30volts to 55 volts. Happy days if they are reliable.

Another home storage battery option emerges.

The math on redflow does not seem to add up for residential. I'd rather 15Kw of lifepo4. Not to mention in application you need two units as it appears the systems need to be cycled to zero every now and then. Am I missing something? Share price did well after catalyst for a while.
