Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Absolutely, new batteries are gonna be better, but for those of us who have stock 60v, we would still like to get max performance out of them. I'd be willing to pay a small fee for someone to reprogram my 2 batteries. Once they die I'll get something better but might as well run them till they quit.

PLEASE tell us how this can be done. Would be amazing to be able to re-program the bms instead of blindly bypassing it!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Yep. I bought from them. Took me a little longer. Maybe 3-4 weeks but had tracking all the way. Arrived intact and works perfectly. I beat Luna’s price by $500….and weren’t even in stock. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Well, this isn’t Europe. And Woodys makes an amazing wheel. Yes the spokes are thick. Yes, it might be overbuilt. Yes, they do use Excel rims. And yes, my wheel cost $380 using my own hub. That included shipping and tax. And they turned it around in 1 week. That’s one week from the day I dropped...

Very cool stuff!!! Has anyone figured out how to get the Gates mud port system onto a Sur Ron??

    Quick EE question

I want to dim a small LED array. I have an 'always on' tail light and want to make a functioning brake light. I have e-Levers that will pull 12v high when in use. My thought is to just put an inline resistor on the tail light to dim it and then bypass it with full 12v from brake levers for full...

It'd be pretty slick if a co2 pump would be all you needed to carry for the time the seal popped. That'd make the tubeless setup a no brainer.

the Tubeliss system gets great reviews from the guys running it. Only downside for it is that it's pretty expensive, and adds a lot of weight. More weight than a tube.

No doubt. It's cool that it's been working. We now have a baseline for 'ghetto' tubeless (no insult intended, I'm just calling the gorilla tape tubeless system that. I run it on my MTB and works great.) Obviously at 12psi its trouble free for the riding you do. For me at least, I want to run...

OK just being that the tire will stay on the rim. At that psi I've not had any issues. As for spinning and not breaking a seal, I'm skeptical, but maybe.

Rim locks are to keep the tire from spinning on the rim, which does indeed rip the stems off. However, even spinning a tire without a tube in it is not great. At the minimum you don't move forward (usually when climbing or accelerating) and at worst you break the rim seal and get a flat. At...

Interesting. Wonder what fork they are using? I'm super happy with my Manitou Dorado Pro fork, but it wasn't a cheap upgrade. Would be nice to see a better fork come from the factory.

Any idea how to seal the rim lock?? I run rim locks on all my wheels and I'd love to go tubeless but don'y know how I'd seal that. Thoughts?? Also, what pressure are you running? Any worry about spinning the tire?

Yep. At least two vendors on eBay sell them. Available in +3/4" and +1 1/2".

thank you pullin-gs. That is the exact type of unit I was seeking. Just didn't know what to call it.

Here's the response I received from Zemso... Bummer that they can't ship here yet. Even the 57Ah would be a massive range extender. I'll be keeping in touch with them. Hope they get their shipping cert soon. It's a bummer our only 'real' option in the USA is Lightspeed.

I've got my bike set up how I like it as far as suspension and cockpit. Really happy with it. Working on wheel upgrade next. Hub and hoops are here. Just need to measure up and order spokes. I have a blast riding it. Totally happy with the top speed on a 54t sprocket as I ride mostly technical...

Got it. I presume that just makes the shunt read low on current so the BMS doesn't freak out??? Will the BMS now not read capacity correctly? Seems the 'gauge' would read low? If that's the case, are you just using voltage to estimate battery SOC??

Hi all, I'm just starting to plow through the 200+ pages of this thread and will no doubt learn a metric $hit ton of great stuff! In the meantime, can anyone shed any light on this post from way back? I'd love to increase battery output but still retain the BMS functions. This post seems to...

    Charging toys from solar??

Thanks for the reply. REALLY trying to avoid a genset. I don't carry one as I'm full solar at this point. My truck is a diesel so I don't carry any petrol. Trying to avoid yet another fuel system with associated storage and maintenance issues. For me, the whole point is to use less petroleum...

    Charging toys from solar??

Hi all, I'm SURE this has been discussed but I'm not finding what I need. I'm hoping someone can point me to some good threads or resources!! Here's what I want to do: I spend a lot of time off grid, usually in Baja. My camper currently has 200w of solar on it and that is plenty to run...

Connection to J1772-2009 Level 1 chargers

Hi, New to this forum. I build custom golf carts for street legal use here in California. I want to be able to plug into the common J1772-2009 Level 1 charging stations to charge when away from home. I'm looking for information on how to build the vehicle side so that I can plug in and charge...
