Yamaha battery compatibility - PASB6 with 2016 PW series? (X0R40)

Hi all, Does anyone know if Yamaha's current battery offerings are compatible - at a communications level - with older model PW series motors? I have a 2016 X0R40 PW and would like to buy a new spare battery dealer-direct for one of the Moro bikes (PW-X3). Here in Canada it isn't possible to...

Yamaha hacking dongle to use 3rd party batteries

A few notes from first days of operation. (with stock cells from 400wh 2016 pack, 1000kms use since new March 2023) - One-button menu system is easier to use than I expected. Intervals between changes are generous and the manual description is accurate and complete. (that being said, I would...

Got some clear plastic pedals and also made a clear plastic backplate for the eTek brush holder (which I bought damaged). I changed the bolts that hold the brush holder to the body of the motor to 12-24 stainless because I needed the length and one of the finer-threaded stock studs was mangled...

    WHY ?

Subject: Left Hand Threads From: Jobst Brandt Date: April 28, 2004 On bicycles, left hand threads are used mainly in three places, on left pedals, right bottom bracket (BB) bearing cups, and freewheel cones, to prevent unscrewing under operating loads. Unscrewing occurs from precession, in...

    Mamba XL/Neu-Castle 2028 780kv Motor Combo 10HP!!!

Hard to tune and eats power. Ask this guy: http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=25841 He's losing power through his and only gaining a little top end. Currently he's experimenting with different springs to see if he can find a set that will hold up. They're just not...

A picture's worth a thousand words....... (title edited)

Next step = custom hub / wheel. With the pulley size approaching 2/3 the rim diameter, 2/3 of the spoke length on that side seems redundant, doesn't it? Could the pulley and hub not be one piece? Perhaps the "printing" technology Miles brought up the other day could facilitate? If...

Is there a lack of 20" ebikes? why?

20" is a beautiful size wheel. Look at Moultons (esp. Miles!)... I agree larger wheels give a smooth ride (I have an English 28" wheeled bike - that's 635 size tires) BUT Proper suspension changes everything. There's many good reasons why most relatively low powered two wheel MOTORIZED...

calculating power loss from wire resistance

Just use the biggest wire that isn't ridiculous. Have a look at the connectors on your motor, controller, batteries, and think about the voltages and currents you're expecting. Since the battery / controller connections are going to remain at battery potential for the entire discharge...
