    750w motor recommendations

Yes i am trying to do a direct swap of the chain drive. I love the 60v option, I could set the ranges in the controller from 48 to 72 for the different gears. You are right that the label isnt very inspiring. I now realize that without pedals the bike is still illegal here. My reading of the...

    750w motor recommendations

I suppose that's true but if it's designed to run at 72v I'm not going to fry it the first time I go to full throttle. Any suggestions on a motor that will handle that range?

    750w motor recommendations

Well, because I’m trying to skirt California laws... Here ebikes are defined as having a maximum of 750w. The thing is there’s no way for them to tell how much power you’re putting through it. I don’t even care if i burn up a few… I built a yz80 with a qs138 and votol 250 but it’s clearly...

    750w motor recommendations

Hello, Im looking for a 750w motor that can run 72v and hopefully handle much more than the 750w rating. Does anyone know of a motor like that? Thanks!

    Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

This thread is specifically about this particular controller, right? We are all using the same configuration screens am I right? These are the screens i see. I do not see anything about wheel size or RPMs. I am very surprised this is not a common issue, has everyones speed just been spot on...

    Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

When you decrease the pole pairs it slows the motor down significantly. I don’t want to slow the motor down i want to bring the speed that is displayed down to match the actual speed of the wheel. What can i change in the controller setup to modify the displayed speed?

    Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

Amberwolf, The connectors pictured are from the Em-150 wiring diagram i received. Looking at the setup screen though i think i need to use the ‘Lin’ sensor. As you can see in the attached photo of the setup software, the options are Hal speedometer or One-lin. In the wiring diagram i highlighted...

    Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

Hey guys, I am trying to get my speedometer readings calibrated. I have the votol EM-150 controller with a QS motor and controller kit. I have two different pairs of wires labled CAN. one says its for the controller and one says speedometer. (see attached photos). I am assuming i connect a...

    Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

Amber wolf, thank you for the reply, below is a picture and description of the batteries that I’m using. They claim an impressive 12 amp hours, and the resistance is stated as 6-7mOhms. That is consistent with the readings i’m getting on the old cells. You mentioned that the new batch i have...

Hello, I appreciate the great info, i have been trying to hunt down damage cells in my pack. I purchased an internal resistance tester the YR1035. What i don’t understand is that it shows a resistance of about 10-12 mOhms on the brand new cells i bought and only 5-7 mOhms on the ones i suspect...

Can anyone tell me what the Votol em-150 needs to activate the rear break light? I have a two post switch on a hand break, what’s the easiest way to get the controller to activate the brake light. The light is all wired up to the 3 pin break light connector. thank you.

    Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

Thank you for the reply, i dont think its a max amps thing because on a full battery it can pull maximum power repeatedly without issue. As for voltage sag, that’s entirely possible but i dont see the sagging voltages on my BMS app. Take a look at my screenshots of the BMS app at the time the...

EM-150 shutting off when battery reaches 80% Hello, I was posting about my E-Motorbike build a while back but disappeared for a while as I built my battery. The battery is complete and generates about 150amps peak and 120 continuous. I have a smart BMS that shows me the condition of the battery...

    Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

I am converting an older YZ80 to electric. I bought the whole kit from Siaecosys.com with QS138 motor, Votol EM-150 controller, wiring harness, controls and display. So it is all a kit designed for the EM-150. I assume high brake is designed to be the front hand brake and the low brake is...

Over Voltage fix (and hopefully explanation)

Thanks for your help and the interest. It’s an old YZ 80 frame I got for $100. So far its been a super fun project bike and goes faster and has better suspension than my Suron! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Over Voltage fix (and hopefully explanation)

Thats great stuff, maybe I will set my soft undervoltage to 74v so that it limps at that point and doesn't trip the BMS but hopefully I still get home! lol I saw one post that suggested that weak connections could cause some resistance and thus individual voltage drop on individual cells...

Over Voltage fix (and hopefully explanation)

Thanks for the advice, im not sure the controller can stop it charging and the BMS isnt programable, ill dial down the over voltage in the controller and see but realistically how could it? the charge lines go through the BMS not the controller. In the detailed description of the BMS theres...

Over Voltage fix (and hopefully explanation)

I am going to attempt a follow up question since I have started to explain my setup. My 24s1p battery consists of LifePo4 batteries with a Daly BMS. It charges to 88V as expected when each cell is fully charged to 3.7 volts. However, the system shuts off when it reaches only 70 volts. I believe...
