Thank you for your latent interest, however the issue is resolved by fitting a replacement sensor.

500w DD ebay motor with bamboo pegs, what glue?

Jb-weld is the go-to epoxy of choice this end, and is ok at autoclave temps which at 15psi are closer to 135c iirc, a smear covering the whole exposed bamboo should retain it in place even when shrinkage due to the more arid conditions takes place.

    20A 48V controller/battery on a 36V 500W motor?

Without a lcd display to configure the controller you not getting the best from your controller. Some(all?) the ktylcd displays also have a programming transfer capacity where a configuration can be transferred to a compatible display so you dont need to set everything 2x, or can use a less...

M5 Display - setting magnets and PAS sensitivity

Good to hear the problem is sorted.. No idea about the old sensor, best guess, and it is a just a guess, is perhaps the cable was flexed once too often and started to develop an intermittent break in one of the wires?? just like every printer problem if you dont check the cable its always the...

?? what maintenance?? - Ive only been around ebikes for a year or so, and in here much shorter, but afaik hub motors kinda just work with the odd hall sensor blow out or ratchet pawl getting stuck if left in the back of a shed for 8months+, beyond that and initially sealing any disk brake screws...

What are your expectations, top speed, range, etc, and what sort of terrain will you be negotiating? I ride a similar cycle (see profile pic) fitted with a 250w geared hub that exerts upto 40Nm at the point the tyre meets the rd. Im limited to 15.5mph by local regs, but unrestricted similar...

    Adding lights (DC-Moto controller)

I would suggest either using a 2nd dedicated lights battery or pulling a full voltage supply directly from the battery, and using a step down voltage convertor if necessary. Even when controllers/displays have a switched lighting circuit its often limited in the amps or milliamps it can switch...

M5 Display - setting magnets and PAS sensitivity

Yeah mybad, I selected that ad as it was in the first few google threw back at me and the ID contained the '12' and the 'L', indicating side to use and magnet count, Ha. A pas sensor of that design is a pas sensor of that design, not brand specific. Display units however can be very picky...

M5 Display - setting magnets and PAS sensitivity

Ah, not very enlightening, hmm, Well its not a KT, as there is no serial/product no(a certain letter combo in the product no identifies features in the KT range).. and it works with an M5 display..

M5 Display - setting magnets and PAS sensitivity

Post a pic of the controller/label, that way we can help you identify it, but thats not a real problem, just a hiccup/misunderstanding.. (Google for example a ktlcd3 manual for a quick double check yourself if still in doubt) Yes the sensor you have with the non kt brand name should work fine...

IM confused now, Where is the KT controller? KT or Ketung? brand controllers Use KT displays (kt-lcd1, kt-lcd3, etc...) and would not work at all with a M5 display afaik?? KT brand controllers are popular since they have a wide range of compatible display options And provide a good set of...

M5 Display - setting magnets and PAS sensitivity

IM just 'thinking aloud' above and guessing, but inside your sensor everything is enclosed in potting compound or embedded within plastic requiring destructive surgery to expose if anything like the one i had to replace,# I dont think its a short or anything at the controller end as if it was...

NEWBIE, Land rover electric bike project

To test the battery voltage all you need is a volt meter, EBike batteries should not ever fall below a certain voltage, google will tell you more about that.. something like 2.2v per cell?? and if they do they may need replacing or reconditioning at best, again beyond my limited experience...

So the battery will be a 48v battery requiring a 54.6v charger to fully charge, and optimally should have a drain capacity grater than the expected peak drain of 35a. This should be clearly marked on a label on the battery.

One of the motors is a 48v 350w motor, the controller is a pretty generic looking 36/48v 35amp scooter controller ( no config interface). based simply on the understanding that a budget 350w ebike would probably ship with a 17a controller, Both motors are probably 350w.. since 2 motors that...

M5 Display - setting magnets and PAS sensitivity

Its not just pulse count that dictates pas control, The PAS sensor magnet count and pattern of placement will create a particular 'wave' pattern too (I am out of my depth now) as to not get stimulated by any old passing magnetic field, last thing you want when waiting at a red light is for the...

Asi bac855 - Throttle voltage outside range?

Many controllers print the expected range of throttle voltages on the label, a range of circa 1v to circa 4v is very common, and with your brake sensors operating at circa 5v is probably reasonable for you too.

fwiw you should be able to 'ghost pedal' in pas mode 5 and the bike should act as it the throttle is wide open. no cut offs until maximum ouput is hit, checking 'manual b' again i see it suggests a 'default' value for 12a as a current limit? You did change that to match the 17a of your new...
