Yeah so I ordered some random spokes off ebay and they were called Bavel, the bag the spokes came in kinda looked legit because they kinda care about company image right, any joe schmo in a Chinese basement wouldnt waste a few pennies on a printed bag right.

My first search engine searches did not find much.
I decided to try youtube and found this

Notice its very similar to the bag name on the stem.
Under the notes is an Amazon link to the bike

I'll go for Sapim spokes for $0.25 USD each (plus shipping) every time. Or $0.40 for double butted. These other folks are going to have to earn a reputation before I bother with them.

Is that how much the LBS would charge for Sapim spokes?

I went to my LBS to buy some spoke washers 40 in all, charged like $0.10 each, the baggy had a retail sticker that said $115 for 1000. I will make some calls tomorrow and see.

When I called up the LBS that could cut spokes to length, $1.00/spoke was the quote.

At my shop, straight gauge DT spokes are $1 each including nipples, with double butted and black spokes costing more. That's on the cheap end of normal these days. Folks gotta eat and pay rent and stuff.

Dan's Competition sells Sapim spokes much more cheaply than my shop can get them wholesale. Even after shipping, they're cheaper. And they cut whatever length you want. So when I plan ahead for a wheel build of my own, I usually get spokes from Dan's.

You can't buy them directly on the website; you have to call them on the phone.
