Does anyone know what "M_Ctr" pin is on the board of a QS-S4 type display unit?

I'm modifying the throttle on my Laotie L6 Pro (generic dual-drive 800Wx2 Chinese e-scooter sold by Banggood). In the process of taking it apart to apply the modification, I noticed that there are two buttons, but three pins on the board.

The pin labeled PwrKey obviously goes to the power button, and the Mode pin goes to the M button. But there's an M_Ctr pin that piques my curiosity, since it suggests there's a possibility of a third button, even though it isn't currently present.

I've thought of grounding it and seeing what happens, but I don't have another throttle display compatible with the controllers in this scooter so I'm kinda wary about that. Anyone knows what it does?
