Lithium Battery Factory begins construction in australia ( tomago nsw)

I wonder how does it come about that a multimillion dollar project such as this just appears from nowhere, well
a little bit of research finds some interesting factors behind this company, called Energy Renaissance.
Its a very new company going back maybe 5 years or so, seems to be investor based research company.
It has links to Cadenza Innovations, another research based investor company, founded by Christina Lampe-Onnerud,
usa based. She had previously founded Boston-Power Inc, also into lithium batteries. That company so far has got 370million
in investments!! Its pretty much been taken over by chinese investors now, the heads of staff mostly being chinese, and head office
moved to china.
I do find it remarkable that such large sums can be found. The problem I guess with these operations is that they are funding based,
and can easily go under ( such as a123 batteries bunkrupcy). What will be the journey of the australian experience with cadenza company ? I'm glad I'm not a business person.
My hat goes off to them for getting this far, it will be extremely interesting to watch what happens.
Heres my guess:
alot of money will get spent and some production of cells will occur, it will have financial problems and some chinese investors
will step in and take over, and move operations back to china, the heads of the company will make alot of money along the way,
some locals will get employed, some cells will get produced, then will dissappear into oblivion, with the heads moving onto other projects.

hers a little article about boston power inc

So the chair of Energy Renaissance lasted only 6 months ( Su McCluskey), although she is still listed as chair on their website, there is a new chair person, Dr Bruce Godfrey. I think thats really not a very good way to start, but I'm guessing this will be the norm.

here is interview with the former chair two years ago, saying she is a rural person, not mentioning she is the director of Australian Unity ( bank), amoungst other things

here is a list of some positions she holds ( not sure how many she holds concurrently).....what a rort!
https://www.boardlinks.gov.au/our-champions/su-mccluskey

This is a very well connected person, lasted 6 months as chair now moved onto being commisioner for covid advisery council, also still holding various other positons such as
Board for Foreign Affairs and Trade Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research Commission for International Agricultural Research
Start date 16 September 2020
End date 16 September 2023

This is what I really dont like about these type of people, they hold multiple positons at one time, get paid executive salaries for each postion at simultaneous time, and will not be devoted particularly for any postion, I mean to do just one of these jobs, should take up all of ones time and energy. I see a big white elephant in this battery manufacturing company.
you can see here for one of su mccluskys appointments she was getting $165,000aud per year

whilst claiming in that video to be a rural farmer...........laughable.
These people are extremely good at making money for themselves, I dont see the type of person that is needed to make a lithium battery factory successful, but I could be wrong.

This Co have been around the Aussie dance floor a few times with “artists impressions” of production facilities in various locations
Boston Power also with separate proposals ?
They spruke mass production of a battery technology that is not yet commercially viable.

thanks slopedearthhater,
there was some small ceromy at tomago site done for media, let see what eventuates, seems energy renaissance has employed
quite a few executives as per their website, its an interesting way to run a business, raise capital employ a bunch of well connected
executives, raise more capital. It seems to be a very lucrative business for a few, with very little to show for the investmant so far.
It smells pretty bad to me.
