Re: TSDZ2 motor slipping

Thats a bummer. I can not think of anything inside the motor to slip. Did you see any wear on the shaft when you cleaned it? I would also buy these 2 parts as a next step. I think that area is the only possible one when it is a mechanical slippingvfailure. Theoretically, it could also be an electron...

Re: TSDZ2 motor slipping

The TSDZ2 has 2 sprag clutches: The "big" one in the main gear - that one engages when you push the padels. (When that one fails, your pedals slip, i.e. you can pedal, but the bike will not move) And the "small" one inside the blue (or brass) gear: That one engages when the motor...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

You will need to order the material in bulk and trim the washers yourself. Aliexpress Supplier (good service): https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3296757 ... 4c4ddaeMzb You can order 0.5mm or 0.3mm Teflon sheets. I recommend 0.3mm for a precise fit. I installed 3X 0.3mm washers instead of 2X 0.5mm was...

I see no list of optimizations ... could you just briefly say what are they? motor optimizations? better power management...

Hi endlessolli. I had suspended testing with the new v20.1C.5 releases in May 2022, haven't resumed them yet. Over the past summer, I've preferred to use proven and safe versions. This is the situation of the stock display version: v20.1C.3 (based on mspider v13) released and withdrawn due to mosfe...

Hi @mbrusa; I wanted to ask, if there is a chance that you bring the std. display version up to the level of the versions for the other versions? (20.1C.2 -> 20.1C.4) Especially interesting would be the further motor optimizations you included in the 3.. and 4.. Versions. Thanks again for this great...

Here is my 1st 3D-print... definitely not something fancy - but useful: It is an adapter (or a set of shims) to be able to attatch the VLCD5 display (from TSDZ2 Motor-Kit) to an (old?) std. handle-bar with 25.4mm diameter (vs newer 31.8mm - where the VLCD5 fits w/o adapter) IMG_1987.jpg Thingiverse...

Re: Help deciphering the tsdz2 torque sensor circuit

I have no info on the circuit on the Controller-side, but the basic functional principle of this torque sensor is that the torque is measured via a CURRENT variation, originating from a Hall-sensor. That is why you only need 2 wires to connect the sensor. So your circuit must generate a ~kHz Signal ...

Re: Hub motor AXLE Cutting and modification

I tried using a std hub motor in a one side only support szenario for a dog trailer. The trailer plus dog where only 40kg. Still, after about 300km, the axle broke. I think due to fatigue stress. Also, the ‚spiky‘ surface due to the thread amplifies the stress in the down areas of the thread. That i...

Is the torque sensor bearing (left of the last picture) replaceable?
Yes, it is. I did it as preventive maintenance when I had to repair the torque sensor (Hall) PCB.
But you have to remove the tiny PCB (desolder). It least I had.

In our fourth year of use, my wife and I have clocked 20,000km each. That's a total of 40,000km for our two TSDZ2 motors. 26 rim 36 chainring 11 smallest cog - 40 kmh easy on flat and bike is great for mtb climbing That should equal a cadence of 92 (down from 98 for a 28 rim). … 42T makes sense for a speedpedelec (45km/h) bike, but almost non for a normal ebike I am not sure what cadence you are riding…. but even with a tiny 12 teeth sprocket you would need a cadence of 100 to reach 45 km/h with a 42T. (w/ 28‘‘ wheels), if I am not mistaken. Also at this cadence you woul...
