Cruise control malfunction Kelly kls controller

So my Kelly controller has a cruise control function. But I've noticed a glitch that causes the bike to over accelerate after the cruise control is deactivated and throttle is applied again. This is potentially dangerous. I need to apply throttle on and off slowly to get the speed functioning normally again. Any ideas of why this is?
