So if I understand you, a hybrid inverter can be set up to seamlessly replace all or some of the grid power, without backfeeding the grid, and in the event of a grid failure will simply keep the house going until the grid goes live again.
That is impressive and will be of interest to many who live in places that the utility is trying to block home power production.

Check local regulations..
Here in Australia, any new grid tie inverter, including hybrid, must have functionality to allow remote control by the grid service supplier for “Demand Management” .
Which means in critical supply situations, the service supplier can both restrict or shut off your grid supply, restrict or cut off any solar feedback to the grid, and if necessary, even prevent your Solar system supply to your property ! ( forcing you to use grid supply only !)
Hopefully, these “BigBrother” tactics will not apply to your area............yet !

My son-in-law is in management at our city's electrical service and he says that if 15% more of the city's population get electric cars it will overwhelm our existing grid. As it is he can't source any new transformers. The waiting list for them is 18 months. He has quite a few on hand but is already having to sub bigger ones for the smaller ones that burn out because he is out of the little ones.
