Kuberg Freerider seat removal for battery removal

I just picked up a Freerider and I want to remove the battery for winter storage.
I am trying to figure out how to remove the seat but I cant figure it out. Kuberg says to remove two rear screws and then slide the seat back. I did that but I cant slide the seat. I can see there are two more screws holding the seat, but they are not accessible do to their location.
Any help would be appreciated.
