Re: Tesla Model 3
Tesla unsuccessfully sued British television show Top Gear for its 2008 review of the Tesla Roadster (2008) in which Jeremy Clarkson could be seen driving one around the Top Gear test track, complaining about a range of only 55 mi (89 km), before showing workers pushing it into the garage, supposed...

Re: Tesla Model 3
Having said that, this still sounds a lot like the wingeing “Sore Loser” syndrome. Odd that none of the reputable motoring mags have not published a report on this pairing ?. But thats just the thing the Model S will beat the Porsche hands down in the 1/4. But it didnt ?.. ( 2 separate indep...

Re: Axiom: a 100kW+ motor controller
Yeah!!! We are extremely proud to announce that PD-Axiom won the "Best Production" award in 2019 Hackaday Prize!! 🥳🥳🥳 This means that judges think our product is the best preapared for manufacture of the whole 500 projects that entered the competition. That is a huge accomplishment, and we believe i...

Drag race was confirmed to be FAKE! There is even a screen shot of where the Model S screen shows "Range Mode"
and Top gear admitted to using numbers from a Model S that was 2 years old!

Re: Hi power inverter for Nissan leaf motor. Dyno's 302.3hp p15
Arlo, Awesome build, watched alot of your YouTube videos today. I had a question about your inverters and saw you prefer PMs on this forum, but I think I'm "too new" and it won't let me send PMs. Love the CRX build! It will let you Send PM's But if its related to this EV build at all you should ask...

Re: Tesla Model 3
I think the Model 3 is a lot more fussy about charge adaptors than the S and X. Guy here in Perth has been struggling with his 3 on the Circontrol Trio chargers. About 50% success. Got a bit of a story today from a local with a 2015 leaf. IN 2014/2015 he said someone from Japan came and put all the...

Re: Tesla Model 3
Its really good to see Porsche actually competing with the model S This really is not a competition between the 2 but the 2 against all ICE vehicles! My wife I are on Maui right now. We Toro'ed a model 3 base model. This car is dope! I didn't think I would be so impressed with the base model. It mig...

Re: Sensorless From Standstill (SFS) explained
Hi Bas, Thanks for releasing this, very interesting read. I thought you wanted to sell this IP, What made you change your mind? I've never really been sure about the legal situation of selling this technology. Because I don't know the motor control literature I cannot be sure the basic idea is not ...

Re: Axiom: a 100kW+ motor controller
I watched one of Arlin's videos on the Axiom he's using in his Honda and he suggests there might be Torque Vectoring possible/coming? I assume Traction Control is already possible through VESC software anyway, but are there plans for Torque Vectoring to be available or is Arlin developing this just...

Re: Tesla Model 3
These cars are great for local/commuting duty... there are MANY in my area... but road trips? Not so much. I just got back from a vacation to Maine and we stopped at some service plazas along the way. Some had Supercharger installations... that were always occupied, with other cars waiting. I can't...

New record again this 1/4...... Yup they are sure getting close to bankruptcy.... you know while they sell more then they ever have and their backlog of orders is getting bigger and bigger... The other car manufactures are down 10-20% in sales..... Hmm Yup Tesla is going down for sure.. bahahahahaha...

Yup boost converter = fail. This is only added losses!
Just because someone else did it doesn't meen its the right way to achieve a goal.

Amber this needs to be isolated! That's why I posted the circuit! Depends on how far reaching you want your power stage blowup to be  Arber, i dont really understand the distinction beween the 400 and 650, but the controller ic needs to see the power stage supply voltage. And if you want your...

Re: Lebowski's motor controller IC, schematic & setup, new v2.A1
Yeah I used a 100:1 voltage divider to bring it down to 0-5v 5v = 500v Then a isolation chip this one with a op amp and brought it back up to 0-5Vdc isolated on the output. https://docs.broadcom.com/docs/AV02-3563EN I have 2 verions. This one I used to run dual sign/co-sign size 6 controllers for a ...

Only way for an OFFICIAL time is for Nuremberg to put on an event and the cars to come as OEMs otherwise Nuremberg considers it unofficial ......... No point bickering over what ifs, could be's and maybe's - neither car has an official time - lets move on and wait for some official times to eventually emerge. :bigthumb: At any rate, they're both bloody quick and I'd happily have either in my garage. Re: Tesla Model 3
A sadly misinformed pair of Tesla fan boys. They need to get their facts correct. There was no lap time , unofficial , or hand timed, because Tesla never ran more than one lap without recharging. And that means you do not cover a full lap..the exit is before the start point. They did not need hand ...

No time is posted because they have yet to run a 7:20. The data logging reveals that putting together elements of other laps, the car as is will run a 7:20. They are running in a manufacturers pool, they are running into traffic multiple times a lap. Theoretical lap from peak deviation is a standar...

Re: Tesla Model 3
Design constraints really I see it as, as we need more power we have to up the voltage so we dont end up with a bus bar system thick as the back of a distribution switching panel. But if a car has 100kw max then 800v is not needed and the tesla can control more power with less volts so Porsche syst...

Re: Tesla Model 3
Guys, You can charge just as fast at 400v as you can at 800v As for efficiency its very close to a wash... VERY much all the same just 400v needs 2x the thickness of wires. But its about 100x less likely to kill you and 50x less challenging to get the systems isolated and safe. Think BMS...... You B...
