Re: ELECTRIC TRANSMISSION DELTA /WYE and SERIE/PAPALLEL stator

Hi Arlo, I ask because I took interest in the subject when Doctorbass first posted in 2009, and we did a lot of testing and found it to be very useful, especially on sensorless systems. We see more torque and efficiency in Wye, and of course much more speed in Delta. We spent a whole lot of time an...

Back from the DEAD!

Is anyone still working on the Delta/Wye switching?

Why would you want this?
I ask this because many thought there was benefits that were later found to be untrue.

Re: Sevcon Gen4 Configuration

Hello EDG123, I seem to have the same problem. Although unlike your case, I just one GEN4 and I am facing the exact same problem after uploading a new DCF file. I am not able to get the SEVCON talk with the CAN and the helper says no nodes on the BUS. So the question is how exactly did you manage t...

Re: Thread for new battery breakthrough PR releases

No actual source here...just some thoughts.... I just read an article on how brine is a massive problem across the world for countries that turn salt water from the sea to fresh drinking water. There's like billions of gallons produced every day from it... I don't see it. All they need to do is pul...

Re: Assembled Hi-Power LiPo battery packs - any interest?

Tab cooling is the most effective way to cool a pack but other than air convection you're limited to low thermal conductivity polymers stuck to the battery terminals. Not only that you cant seal a battery completely from the elements when you aircool. This is the perpetual dillemma. Base cooling is...

Thanks for the answer. 38 miles is a good time but I’d always want at least 50. Tom Man you 100% missed the point. You can get 200 miles if you want. With a dirt bike its about ride time. You can get X amount of time in a day on the bike. For me its 2 hours or hard riding and I have 1/2 a charge le...

Okay, this is all over my head. Another comment/question. They did say that the magnets exploded when they hit them with a hammer. That means that they are aligned in a way that they are pushing themselves apart . What does that mean? It depends on the plane the magnet fractures in. In one plane, t...

I agree Luke. And Mitch there is no relationship to voltage and charge rates. You can have 1/2 the voltage and 2x the amps or 2X the voltage and 1/2 the current....

What is the most range you gotten out of a ride....meaning a good fun ride, not just max range? Looks like a good time always in your pictures. Tom With my Zeros I don't have odometers. I can tell you I have done 5.5 hours of riding and come back with over 1/3 charge left. The type of riding you do...

The path forward is open source. The more you share the more others want to help. Patreon is a good platform. Jordan Peterson and another guy are bringing out a new platform as well. Jordan Peterson shared all of his lectures for free on you tube 20+year's worth and people are giving him close to $1...

Oh wow. That level of colorblindness must make life a challenge. Btw its not just the color blindness its also the little thin circle around the icon that's so small it makes it hard to tell. Oops 😬, fixed incorrect tags! He was also very impressed with the HVAC system which he mentions is reviewe...

Hopefully Tesla has a profitable year in 2019.
Elon said they will be profitable for now on. Other than when big re-payments come due. I think a big re-payment is due soon. But I bet that 1/4 they will just break even. All the rest will be profitable.

If you order Fuji IGBTs we should get a group buy going. They have a 24 week lead time right now. I was looking at possibly getting 100 of them. Another point is the PWM frequency will effect the noise but you want to keep it low for lower switching losses. But you need the PWM to be high enough to ...
