Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Yes, I've been singing the praises of the innotrace controller for the last month or so since I got it. Earlier this year I ordered a bike in development from Watt Wagons. The bike will not ship until end of year but they agreed to send my Ultra motor (with innotrace controller) early so I could tes...

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

I have a Yamaha PW and it's definitely quieter than the stock M600 ever was. I've read that the newer generation Yamaha are noisier. I let my sanity decide as far as noise, not because another motor is noisier, sounds like stocholm sndrome. :D On the X1 it may be amplified due to the carbon frame. I...

Hello,

Did anyone change the "silent gear"?

It makes sense? Is the engine really quieter?
Yes, it's definitely quieter. You can still hear it but it's a far more pleasant tone. Sounds like a low pitched flute instead of a cat moaning on a fence.

Re: Dengfu M09 Endruo/Freeride build log

Kepler, just curious if you notice is a distinct difference in torque sensing on your stock M600 below and above 50% PAS. On my Luna X1 (non-ludi) I find PAS 1 and 2 (of 5) requires constant pressure on the pedals or assist cuts out. Not very smooth or pleasant to ride on flats. PAS 3+ is much smoot...

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

Can those with non-Luna M600 comment on torque sensing characteristics in PAS 1-2 of 5? Is is distinctly different than PAS 3-5 of 5? On my Luna X1 (non-ludi) there is a distinct change in torque sensing recipe below 50% PAS. Hardly any assist in PAS 1-2 unless you are really puting pressure the ped...

Re: Bafang Ultra G510 - error code 11 & burnt controller

It started out that you were upset that Watt Wagons was reselling the Exess bike and took too much credit for the Innotrace controller. Seems pretty clear you just don't like the company, which is fine, at least own up to having more of an agenda than a good faith discussion about a battery rating.

Re: Bafang Ultra G510 - error code 11 & burnt controller

They are the exclusive North America distributor for the controller. They made the investment to get UL certification so seems fair they should get something in return no?

As far as kindernay I don't believe so. They simply took the initiative to offer it. Just an example of them making it happen.

Ok so besides this particular pack what issues do you have with the company? All I can say is I love the new controller. And thanks for posting a warning on EBR. Let's see how many customers chime in with how wronged they have been. :D

Re: Bafang Ultra G510 - error code 11 & burnt controller

From what I have seen Watt Wagons is just trying to offer the best bikes they can. I have watched them grow over the last year and like what I see, there is a lot of passion and ingenuity and great stuff on the way. As I said, who else stepped up to bring the innotrace controller to the US? Who else...

Re: Bafang Ultra G510 - error code 11 & burnt controller

Can't really comment on the batteries, all I know is everything claimed about the new controller was true, and the efficiency gains were conservatively sandbagged (if anything). I loved my Frey CC before, despite her faults, but now I'm falling in love all over again. Life is too short to invest in ...

Re: Bafang Ultra G510 - error code 11 & burnt controller

And here: https://wattwagons.com/pages/archon-x1-controller when i see the "range comparison" between stock controller and "their" (meaning Innotrace X1) contorller. If it is on flat terrain at the same speed why there is so big difference between the range for 750 W controller vs 1000 W and 2300 W...

Re: Bafang Ultra G510 - error code 11 & burnt controller

I see it more akin to a 3 way partnership with watt wagons making an investment to bring the controller to North America and get UL certification, something neither exess or innotrace was willing or able to do. I don't think app development would have progressed either without WW coming to the table...

Re: Bafang Ultra G510 - error code 11 & burnt controller

Not compatible with Eggrider. Watt Wagons is working on an app and alternate display. I assume they are teaming up with Exess, not sure. Requires custom software with cable (or alternate display) to program the motor and there is a per user license fee to fund development. I have the new controller ...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Seems as if my throttle wiring short is in the bundled harness wiring. When I press where the arrows are I can get throttle to work temporarily. I fear this is going to be a major headache to fix. I am guessing FREY will send me a new harness and I'll be on the hook for labor to install. Has anyone ...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Anyone have issues with throttle randomly not working? I don't use throttle much but today in traffic when I wanted to gun it I had very jerky throttle (brief on then cut out, then on, then cut out). I stopped bike and turned off power but did not seem to solve the issue. I went up a steep hill and ...

Re: Frey CC ordered!

I am really enjoying mine. Still working out a few issues here or there. Plan to upgrade to the exess controller to improve range. Other than lack of dual battery option this bike is hard to fault. While heavy it's so comfortable and stable as speed. I think Frey should consider a dual battery optio...

Re: EXESS HP-E180 Bafang Ultra Max Enduro bike

I have a M600, it's closer to 500W nominal. It has about half the power of my 1000W Ultra. Also, the M600 can't be programmed by the user and I'm not enamored with the torque sensing. Can you clarify on programming, do you have any ability to tune the 2300W settings? Just curious what Exess provided...

Re: EXESS HP-E180 Bafang Ultra Max Enduro bike

Joe, what version of the Exess controller do you have? 1000W or 2300W? Just wondering how much of the increase in power at PAS 2 has to do with the nominal rating. My understanding is the 2300W version can be tuned back to 1000W if desired. I personally don't have any desire for more power on my Ult...

Re: Luna Cycle X-1 Enduro FS (Bafang M600 / Dengfu M09)

I originally purchased the X1 last year but returned it as I was put off by the M600 motor noise. Also, the medium size I had ordered was a bit small for me at 6' 0". A few months ago Luna came out with a quieter reduction gear so I decided to give the X1 another try, this time ordering a large. I d...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

The red queen rides again! After being down for a week due to naively popping out a piston from the front caliper I spent most of last night installing a new caliper, bleeding the front brake, changing the front and rear rotors and installing blue comfort pads in the rear brake. The new caliper came...

I heard so many good things about Magura brakes I drank the kool aid, but yeah, I am not impressed so far. Not 100% confident the velofix tech did the bleed properly so I ordered a bleed kit. Just doesn't make sense that air would have gotten back into the line without fluid leak. Seems the fluid wo...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

It would be better if I wasn't an idiot, I get myself into too much trouble, lol. Even better if my bike had arrived without so many brake issues. So far I'm $200 invested with new rotors and pads and a $99 service call from velofix. At least they were nice enough to true my front wheel (one of my s...
