Re: Is it possible to upgrade segway x160 battery and controller?

I'm sure the shorter wheel base is just the front forks used on the bike, I doubt they re-designed the entire frame/swingarm just to put smaller wheels on the bike. So you could technically upgrade the bike to be the same size but it would cost way more than your saving by cheaping out. The battery ...

Ya be careful I almost ordered an X160 also until I realized it came with 17" wheels instead of 19" that alone is not worth it to me

Re: Denzel 72v 4-spd Gearbox Build 125cc Dual Sport

So here are some pics of the junk BTR Ebay battery you should never buy! And never keep in your house! Also I would like to note that I paid a little bit extra to get the 35ah version over the 30ah since this dirt bike was heavy and I wanted good range, but if you look at the pictures of the cells y...

Re: Slow acceleration for 72v 2000w ebike.

Bike is actually pretty awesome for the young folks, and with a new rear shock it would be able to commute a full size adult It is really fast and silent as ever on flat ground and when my daughter is wide open throttle I cannot catch her on the 18s Kuberg which is pretty fast I rebuilt the entire b...

It looks like the gas and oil are going to leak out when you do that. Nope! Just my right hand grip fills up with dirt! EDIT: I just bought one of these slow dirt bike looking objects...Why? I don't know, i guess i've been mid drive for a few years now and i miss the hub motors IMG_5252 (1).jpg Thi...

Fork is not rigid enough or too soft ?
I would say both for the weight of me and the bike its over 300lbs

just lining up the stanchions while trying to put a wheel on is hard enough, should tell you something

The rear shock is great, i would not buy the front one again with an electric bike. I would like to upgrade to the dorado if i could afford

Re: Denzel 72v 4-spd Gearbox Build 125cc Dual Sport

I also want to make a note that the Ebay BTR 72v 35Ah battery i purchased is a big pile of crap and it was another bad investment. I only got a month or two out of it then stored it for the winter. After only 3 months i go to use the bike and it does nothing, i go to charge it and it doesnt charge.....

Thank you skeetab for this very helpful thread, it was fun reading through it all and it helped me decide on what motor I need for my project. I love the form factor of this gearbox but I have decided that it is not for me and my project (a small, classic Honda ev conversion). The one they're selli...

Re: Denzel 72v 4-spd Gearbox Build 125cc Dual Sport

thats why you put the shifter back on after inspection but if your going through the bother of legalising it you could also just register it like a street legal enduro Oh I misunderstood you, I thought you were saying to gear it like that forever...not just to pass inspection. That would work if we...

id select a gear that the bike will start in like 2nd or 3rd, take the shifter off, go through inspection and then put it back on after inspection but thats me :) no different than programming a controller to 3000 watts for inspection and then bumping it to 5000 watts afterward then the top speed w...

Re: Denzel 72v 4-spd Gearbox Build 125cc Dual Sport

The overheating means you need a smaller rear sprocket, not a larger one. You seem to keep forgetting that it's a relatively low power motor in that casing. What's the no-load current of the entire drive train in low gear vs high gear? edit: I do own the new LRHDD XL motor that is a beast and same ...

Re: Denzel 72v 4-spd Gearbox Build 125cc Dual Sport

Ordered an 18t sprocket to try and squeeze a little more top speed out of the bike now that it has a much more capable battery. Although i must say the only thing that worries me now is the motor overheating, i find myself constantly touching it after alot of take-offs and hard starts or when doubli...
