Re: how to open this freewheel?
If that freewheel is like a couple I just opened recently then removing much material is not an option. The interior is stepped like the exterior so it has a thin wall for it's entire length. If what you are trying to do is make it small enough to fit the 11t further in the freewheel body it's not g...

What about the Stator? It needs to be fixed in the middle of the axle, will it have threads and bolts holding it in place?

Re: best type of motor set up?
IMHO I think all current systems are a compromise. None of them do best in all of your categories.
What I would really like to see is a hub motor that can do like 2kw continuous and has a built in transmission of some kind to get multiple gears.

Re: Hi All
Unless you are doing a lot of big hills or a LOT of stop and go or are building a very high powered rig, I would just forget about regen. It really isn't that useful for what you get back in energy vs. the added complexity. It is effective as a break IF you are regularly riding in conditions that m...

Re: HELP NEEDED LONGSTAR E-BIKE
I would say you are correct about the components so far. If the black wire and the red with white trace go to opposite ends of the battery bank (the batteries should be in series) then that would be where you plug in a 48 volt lead acid charger. One note: The battery is 12 volt 20 amp hours , not am...

Re: e-Brake switch: Can it simultaneously activate brake lig
Couple of questions. Did you install that brake switch T in the front brake line? If so did you change the front brakes from your Hayes to the Maguras? Reason I ask is because those switches are not compatible with Dot 3 or 4 fluid. It will cause them to stick. The details are in this thread: Regen ...

Re: Bafang motor
The main advantage of the CST motor, with the cassette, over the BPM motor (the same motor but with a freewheel thread), is that the cassette allows a wider gear range. The tallest gear on a freewheel is 12T, and then only on one type that may not be the best in terms of quality. Most normal freewh...

Q100 is a geared motor with internal clutch so as soon as you let off the throttle you will lose hall sensor signals.rocwandrer wrote:gwhy! wrote:so you can use the hall sensor signal from that motor for the rear wheel speed.

I AM A NEWBIE,but would'nt it be easier to just lay off the throttle when braking???not sure I understand what this is for??? There are several reasons why this might be a good idea for a bike. 1. Will shut off cruise control when braking. 2. Will shut off motor during panic stop when you might not...

Re: Best beam shape for LED lights???
I'm currently using a pair of lights like these: HK055-4h.jpg One is round for a high beam and the other does a line for low beams. The low beam works ok for lower speeds but not so good above 30. Right now I have it set up where one or the other is lit but I may try it with both on for high to get ...

Deja vu! I was at my local sporting goods store today (http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=15847826) and I looked at that very case! I can't compare it to a pelican brand as I've never seen and inspected one, but from what I've read, the pelican case is pretty beefy allowi...

I too just did my first wheel build. I did a BPM CST into an older mtb rim. I ordered spokes for single cross with 1mm long for one side and 1mm short for the other for dishing. I've been running a Cyclops on a WTB 21-559/26mm wide rim for a while now without trouble. I just make sure it's seated right and stays at least 30psi or more so it stays put. It is a double wall rim but if your single wall rim is strong I don't think there should be a problem.
