BMSBATTERY Q128C upped 500W rating to 800W?

BMSBATTERY Q128C upped 500W rating to 800W? I sent them an email requesting clarification. Q128C #1....power rated for 800 Watts https://bmsbattery.com/motor/1130-18552-q128c-135mm-36v800w-cst-rear-driving-ebike-hub-motor.html#/213-rpm-201 Q128C #2....power rated much less at 500 Watts https://bmsba...

Re: XLD Brainpower motor controller XunLiDa

Some time ago several of us posted that we observed no difference in speed when we bridged high-speed wire vs leaving connection open. Has anyone figured out if there is a workaround or fix to get high-speed to actually work? All three of my controllers only have two speeds....low works. Medium and ...

Re: Puma CST or Banfang CST for KT controller?

My Q128C did the same thing......The motor threw two magnets off the armature. Fix was to re-glue all magnets with locktite ea9394 Areo-grade epoxy. This happened to two motors. One after 2000 miles, the other 1000 miles. I overvolt my 36V motors @48V and run the piss out of them. Combination of hea...

Re: Economical intelligent charger for 14S2P packs

Hi, Is there an economical charger out there which can individually charge each group. We don't need to do this every charge as we could group buy a charger and simply do a couple of maintenance charges. I would guess we would need to retro fit a new wiring port to be able to reach each cell and qu...

Re: comparison li po li ion for trolling motor fishing

For my 30lb Minnkota, I built a 24AH pack using 8AH lipo pouch cells three years ago. I use it in a kayak. All-in price is $70 for my pack: $30(cells)+$14(I upgraded resistor-network minnkota controller with much more efficient PWM variable speed)+$25(water-proof case, fittings, copper cable). hi v...

Re: Spim08hp 3.7v 8ah 200amp cell

Has anyone else had an issue with these cells failing (seemingly random)? I think my issue may have come from not having all of my 22s pack in the holders, as I have not had issues with any other packs I have made with these cells. I am using a 200 amp ANT bms so I know they are not getting overcha...

Re: Question about a recumbent trike build

That's only a problem with aluminum freehub splines. Maybe you're thinking of Campagnolo pattern cassette splines, which are deeper than Shimano splines. Shimano made deeper 10-speed Hyperglide splines (from 2004 to 2007) for the high priced Dura Ace group, so they could use an aluminum freehub bod...

Re: Question about a recumbent trike build

There are quite a few 500w hub motor options with freehubs that will support 8/9 speed cassettes. 8-, 9-, and 10-speed Shimano Hyperglide pattern cassettes all fit on the same size freehub body. Yes...but there is a caveat....especially if using a mid-drive: A 10-speed cassette on an 8/9-speed free...

Re: Question about a recumbent trike build

I have a Catrike Expedition with 135 rear drop out for 26 inch wheel. I'm trying to find a 500 watt hubmotor that will take a 10 speed cassette (NOT freewheel) and fit in the dropouts. Might be willing to go with less wattage if that means it'll fit in the dropouts and I'm aware that I can add a sp...

Re: Anderson plug irritation

I am using 2 Anderson plugs as a substitute for main switch on my electric bike. When I go over a bump the bike sometimes loses power and pulling the plug out and re-inserting it fixes things until it happens again. Looking carefully at the plug I can see that the clip that sits under a lip on each...

Re: Need adaptive cruse control throttle.

Nucular controller keeps your speed where you set it, it adds power to uphills so it maintain speed, and use regen to reduce speed in downhills etc (you can set that off, so it let bike speed increase on downhills if you want to) also it support to cruise speed + and - buttons, so you can adjust cr...

Re: Need adaptive cruse control throttle.

That is how my controller (cheap $22 1000W....works great otherwise) behaves.
I'm sure someone has built a micro-controller throttle of some sort that regulates throttle input based on wheel RPMs or ground speed?

Need adaptive cruse control throttle.

My controller has cruise control feature which allows me to set throttle, but motor RPMs drop as grade increases. So effectively all the cruise control function is providing is a simple current regulation function (vs maintain set RPM). Is there a throttle available (or device that plugs inline with...

Re: Considering a tadpole trike for my next build

For 12HP (80v @ 100a) build you will need a donor-trike that is pretty hefty. Your right about mid-drive...stock drivetrain is designed around 250W human power.....your proposed power is 40X that! A rear-hub motor could work, but at those watts your looking at something without a cassette if using s...

Upgraded battery connectors to XT90

I've been using Anderson PP (30 amp) connectors for years. My setup draws 800 watts (25 amps) maximum which is within specification of PPs. PPs were OK I suppose other than the intermittent power drop-outs under high current loads. Reseating would them usually took care of issue. Anyway, I upgraded ...

Will the derailleur be able to accommodate the jump in size between the gears since they aren't as close in diameter anymore? Sorry I don't know much about these bikes.
It might make a little more noise while shifting, but should be okay.

I took another approach. Instead of mounting panels on trike I just use them to charge battery. This is what I settled on for connecting cells together for 1P packs. Ive built an 10S, 11S, and 12S pack using this "clam-clip"method. "clam-clip" method These packs have been in heavy service (30-amps maximum) for my daily-driver pack for past 6 months: IMG_0708.JPG https://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

Tabs are only 3/8" long......and cell is 1/4" thick.
Any attempt to bend cells over each other will ruin cells.
