Re: Are 3.7 8ah LiPo batteries 25c 200A super cells good for ebike

I was just following this thread but I will follow up here and let you know when the batteries here I and what's going on what shape but they seem too cheap to be true which is I don't know. But there's some reason there's a ton of these to be sold new and used They are surplus cells from hybrid bu...

Re: Any lipo checker that is not powered only from first cell?

Put a switch on first input wire to lipo checker.....just turn it off when not in use and it does not draw current.

Time to drop a cell (or two?) from my packs? Speed is getting a bit much.

I've had a ton of fun with my etrike for past year, upgrading it and getting faster along the way. Currently trike does 28MPH (faster if conditions are right). Those speeds can do some serious injuries? Either I need to gear up or slow down. :-( FYI I also own a motorcycle: When I ride I ALWAYS wear...

I've been using them for over two years now.
Built a 3S3P pack for my e-kayak.
an 11S and 12S for my two etrike projects.
I find them very reliable and as safe as any quality LIPO pouch cell.

Re: Question about making recumbent e-trike

I also built mine from scratch. Took a budget&minimalist approach though. My trike build is dialed in for 25MPH for entire ride....It will do 30 under right conditions (fresh pack, no head wind, etc.), but I rarely take it that fast. My favorite cruse speed is around 20MPH which gives good economy w...

Re: Why does my 36v e- bike cut off when I put a 42v silver fish battery In place of the 36v silver fish battery

My controller works great on 10S 36V pack. It also works great for 13S 48V pack.
The controller auto-adjusts LVC for either a 10S or 13S pack.
However 12S is not so great......unfortunately it adjusts LVC for a 13S pack.
So over 4V (13*.33V) is left on the table.

Geared hub motor threw a magnet......

One of the magnets on my motor came unglued.
Anyone ever have any luck gluing them back with epoxy?
Motor is geared Q128C hub motor....magnets are on armature.

Q128C hub motor internal motor-shaft (pinion end) end-bearing shot....

My Q128C started making awful racket today when at higher wheel RPM (even under no load when wheel lifted off ground it makes noise). I tore motor down. Is NOT clutch. Motor is clean as a wistle, no loose stuff. Has 2000 miles now. The problem is the motor-shaft's (pinion side) end-bearing is shot. ...

Re: Will higher amp controller help?

I have a cheapo 1000W speed control. When current draw is 20 amps or higher, it goes into pulse-width modulation (PWM) mode increasing "off" duration of waveform being fed to motor (behaves like throttle is reduced). The current threshold is determined by reading voltage levels across shunt circuit ...

Re: HeatSink that works well for smaller hub motors....

It would seem that the bike frame is more effective dissipating heat from the stator than the heat sink, since the only direct path for heat to travel through conduction is via the axle. The path to the case is via the axle, then through the bearings, to the case, and to the heat sink. Cooling the ...

Finally have put to bed the idea of breaking even on solar. Like the idea of making my own power and learn not to waste it. My payback timeframe is 18 months (based on $4/gal gas, my 10MPG car, and $200 solar tax credit). But the satisfaction I (and I presume you as well) get engineering, implement...
