Forget about twizy... It doesn't even have "real" doors.. an electric Smart is a far better choice.

Re: Is DC more lethal than AC.....why

from wikipedia: A low-voltage (110 or 230 V), 50 or 60-Hz AC current through the chest for a fraction of a second may induce ventricular fibrillation at currents as low as 60 mA. With DC, 300 to 500 mA is required. If the current has a direct pathway to the heart (e.g., via a cardiac catheter or oth...

Re: What the heck is with Dewalt battery prices on ebay

I'm not sure that's a good idea, Unfortunately i'm on the wrong side of the Atlantic
and the final cost would include custom tax Indonesia - Italy and Italy - US.It has to be a continental group buy.
Maybe you American could start first and let us European know how it goes..

Re: What the heck is with Dewalt battery prices on ebay

If it sounds to good to be true.............. It probably isn't, and I'm not going to wast.. invest $920 to find out..but then again, ebay dewalt sellers must get them somewhere, some months ago you could find them for $70-80, to make a profit on that price, you must buy them for max $50 each, at t...

Re: Spoke Breakage.

New spokes are ok so far, i replaced them and trued the rim following Sheldon Browns instructions , but i can't tell wether the tension is right, i should get a special tool for that i guess. I think the 12ga spokes from Powerridestore are made by Crystalyte so i'm not too optimistic about the futur...

Re: Spoke Breakage.

After about 6 months of regular use without any problems, The spokes on my 408 hub motor began breaking, the one after the other, like in a nightmare I think the problem is the quality of steel which is very poor, they all broke at the point nearest the hub, (which is the weakest) and the point of b...

now I just have to find the right relays. I don't think
they exist with a 36V rated coil, so I will use 2 24v with

Re: ----- All Answer about the Dewalt 36V battery and B M S ---

I would like to make a lvc for my 20s2p a123 based pack, using 2 dewalt bms's.The 2 bmss should be activated by the resistor network as in cyclemotor engineer's schematic, but the main current path would be directly from the battery leads to controller bypassing the bms's. At the + e - terminals of ...

if it's a brushed hub, it's likely that the brushes are worn out. It should'nt be so difficult to replace them, as long as you can find the fitting parts.
You can take the hub cover off and take a look inside. I did it myself.

I'm still making experiments with dewalt, I also have a 48V SLA pack, but it's so heavy and I have broken spokes twice. I use my bike for commuting (about 20km each way), and I would not mind switching the motor off and pedal once in a while, but doing it with 20kg of batteries on the rack is not a ...

charging dewalt packs

I have a 2p dewalt packs, with diy fused discharge terminals (bypassing the bms). For charging I disconnect the packs each time and I plug them into the charger. I would like to upgrade it to 2s2p, and this way of charging would be very unpractical, . I'm thinking of doing what doctorbass and others...

2 New dewalt with different voltage

I got 2 new dewalt packs on ebay (still in the original package). I soldered the discharge wires directly on the battery tabs (bypassing the BMS), I wired them in 2p connecting a fuse and a diode in series on each of them and then rode about 10 Km being careful to not let the voltage drop below 30V,...

Hello everybody, I just discovered this forum
and maybe you can help me. I have a Crystalyte 408 motor with 48V 20A controller. I want to try it with 2 DeWalt packs wired in series to make 66V. Do you think it is possible to upgrade the controller just changing the MOSFET's?
thanks
