Re: Warning for those who bulk charge using bench power supply

jonyjoe your solution is a good one, and something I was going to mention. In the aerospace sector (where I spent my career) we always did FMECA (Failure Modes Effects and Critically Analysis) and used concepts of single failure tolerant and two failure tolerant to protect life threatening critical ...

As mentioned above, don't underestimate the post sales support required. It can eat you alive. Then when you are overwhelmed, folks will start complaining about no timely response. May I recommend that you set up a Message Board for your company. Have it up and running before sales start. Point peop...

Early on the thread spoke of vitamin supplements. Thought I would share my journey over the winter with a kidney and 8 bladder stones... About two years ago, I thought I would start taking vitamin C regularly. A good antioxidant and supposedly helps prevent colds and such. A older (75 years) friend ...

Re: Schaeffer grease alternative?

The key ingredient you are looking for is a grease containing Molybdenum disulfide, or "moly". Some alternatives: (your recommended grease was a NLGI 1 a thinner version. It is a bit harder to find than the thicker NLGI 2. The thinner grease is better with gears as it tends to flow back into the cre...

Re: Need help identifying connector/terminal manufacturer and series

Thanks fecthter, I found out the connector is off a Koyo designed power steering unit, so perhaps it is a Japanese sourced connector and GM had to pick up what Koyo sourced. Weird. epowersteering found the source as they offer the connector with two crimp terminals for $5 bucks. If you can believe i...

Re: Need help identifying connector/terminal manufacturer and series

Thanks gents, yes, I got the pix from epower steering. If GM uses these connectors with a 50 amp fuse in a safety critical function (steering) there must be something good in the design.

I couldn't find a manufacturer match. Strange for GM connector...

Need help identifying connector/terminal manufacturer and series

I ran across a picture of this connector series. It is being used commercially for 50 to 75 amps continuous. The spade connectors are about 10 mm wide. I spent about 4 hours today trying to find it... with no luck. I found a picture of the terminals in a china site, but no match to anything "real" o...

It's inrush. If you want to stay mechanical, I have used these definite purpose contactors from Automation Direct. Not too bad for imports and the price is pretty good. https://www.automationdirect.com/adc/sh ... contactors

Pure genius the SRPM architecture. Great efficiency gain when a large portion of use is at part load. Saves on rare earth materials. The person who thought of this marriage of technologies has paved the way forward with a giant step. Thanks for the insight on losses Luke.

Since there are knowledgeable pilots on this thread, let me ask this question: Early on, they stated how the 737 max engines could provide "lift." Well to me that was happening because they possibly installed the new engines with a positive tilt upwards, that bought more clearance for the nacelle wi...

First, wondering what Justin's thoughts are? Second, not a supporter of FB. More and more of it's security flaws are going to be exposed, and I think it is near the top of its curve right now. An update on this one too. You can't find a better magnetometer, but It appears it was too pricey. Now willing to sell at a loss at $899 plus UPS shipping. It is still up on the auction site we all know and love. Meter and probe are calibrated and ready to rock and roll.

Amazing as it may seem, Rossi is still at it and still getting money from investors. Yep I watched it all and couldn't believe it. Here is what I do for broken screws/bolts on really expensive things. It takes a mill (Bridgeport) however, but you may be able to adapt. Lock the part down on the table with fixturing. Take an end cutting end mill and make the top of the broken screw perfectly flat Use a center drill and your skill...

Thank you for all the info, going with all the info I am going to ask ddk on his thread to get more accurate info, as I have doubts the 2 pole can handle 30A  ... Note the specified 3mOhm contact resistance. At 30 amps that 2.7 watt dissipation per contact, or 5.4 watts per 2 pole connector....

Lebowski great tech! You deserve the :wizzard: label for sure! I would recommend you form a company. Make your technology the company's IP. Then approach the big guns of TI. This is a chip level solution with associated algorithms. If TI bites, they will buy out your company for the IP. Typical tech...
