I believe its called a coaster brake, not coastal. JMO. Easier to understand using proper bike terms. Had interest in this motor but looks like to many maintenance issues for me. I will stick with geared hubs, thank you.

Wonder how this would be on a catrike expedition. Been thinking about going electric but would like to still pedal the majority of the time. Will be following this and if i pull the trigger on this will post up my thoughts. Looks promising.

I am beginning to wonder if the op is really a teenage girl as all the imaginary eye gazing and romance sounds like how a middle school girl talks. I know because i work in a middle school and hear the drama everyday. also all the excuses for not taking any pictures does not add up?. also a teenage ...

Re: a storm is brewing on the mountain

I would be more concerned with the mid-drive. It being a Sondors brand or a name brand. As long as the buyer doesn't expect beat the hell out of it, it might just work. Biggest concern as I said would be the drive and the battery. Will there be spare parts available? Chalo has many good points and ...

Re: a storm is brewing on the mountain

Shifts promptly when you click the shift lever, stops hard and quietly when you pull the brakes hard, doesn't rattle or bind or have side play or consume its own bearings. Wheels run true and round and stay that way. Brakes don't rub, cables don't stick, and bearings don't drag. Seatpost, handlebars...

Re: a storm is brewing on the mountain

Chalo said My point is that starting folks on unfixable bikes helps train them to be insensitive to malfunctioning machines for the rest of their lives. You won't learn to seek "proper operating condition" if there's no such thing with the stuff you own. I suspect that's where slacker is coming from...

Re: a storm is brewing on the mountain

chalo wrote. But the more features a BSO has, the more harmful cost cutting has been done, and the more things there are that need to work but don't, and the farther the bike will fall short of reasonable expectations. That's the trap this new Sondors design represents. There's just a whole lot of s...
