A tv capacitor taught me that they should be treated like guns - make sure it's unloaded before you fuss with it.

How about E Bike Bazaar for a name? It might be useful to have geographical divisions to minimize shipping costs.

Anyone Using Cloud Storage?

Any body using cloud storage and have anything good or bad to about it? Given the increasing spate of hacks I feel my data would be subject to loss. Access to something in the public domain might be reasonable but any of my data is going to be locally stored. The terabyte drives makes local storage ...

Re: Antivirus Software

I used free Avast for 2 years with no problems then purchased their service and caught a virus within a month. Avast tech support was Iyogi based in India and they tried to charge me $169 plus a monthly fee to debug my computer. I tried Norton and they also used IYogi for support. Been using Ubuntu ...
http://sydwalker.info/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/perpetual-motion-machine.gif
The Sphere should be a very tough sell for over unity claims as any serious e-cyclist is exquisitely attuned to energy acquisition, storage and use. For the racers among us, it extends to their ATP ...

The hucksters (I include lawyers, preachers and politicians) depend on the large percentage of people who never outgrew the "Wishing makes it so" stage of life.

Re: Two 100 hour tests confirm heat production of e-cat

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. I recall visiting a kinetic art exhibit at the Seattle Center some years back. Everyone was marveling at a large open work arrangement of moving wheels and gears that had no obvious motive force. There was even some mention of perpetual motion. It had ...

Re: Superlight Hub Motors???

If it'll take 10kw for a few minutes at a time I want one! It would be neat to have a quarter or beer can in the pic for a size reference though. The ad I saw for the scooter claimed 150W for a price of $1400. http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Patgear-lithium-battery-rim-motor-electric-scoote...

Re: Had my Physical yesterday, and…

I don't know the cost. My colonoscopy was covered by insurance for which I pay dearly. One factor in colon health is fiber in the diet. I attribute my whistle clean colon to my morning oatmeal.

Re: Had my Physical yesterday, and…

Colonoscopy really isn't that bad if you don't let them knock you out first. You can watch it on the monitor and it only lasts about twenty or thirty minutes. It reminded me of that movie where the medical scientists were shrunk to microscopic size and injected into the patient and then proceed to ...

I do not have the slightest idea of what should be shown but I do belie...

Re: Ereader vs Bound Books

We are already at a time where the average 12yo kid with a smart phone and interwib access has a better library than the entire bound library of congress, and all instantly searchable and available faster to access than owning like 10 physical staffed libraries. The problem I see is that the averag...

My big peeve about Ebooks is the cost. The book sellers have to love the logistics and they still sell them at or just slighty below the bound book cost.

Ereader vs Bound Books

The Great Books thread made me wonder about others preference for reading media. I prefer a bound book because of the tactile feedback and because I've spent so many years reading that way.

In no particular order: Candide - reminds me of myself, stupid until the end Huckleberry Finn - It's a different book every time I read it. Catch 22 - Tells me I'm not paranoid, they are trying to get me Moby Dick - It is too many books in one binding, but each is interesting The Age of Voltaire by ...
