Re: Looking for a trustworthy front hub motor

Most stuff has no (or wrong) info about wiring/connectors, at best it's in a really bad translation of Chinese to English. Many people have posted threads over the years here to figure out how to connect stuff (even stuff that came as a "kit"). If you can get a "kit" of everythin...

Re: Sabvoton 72150 help

I disconnected the BMS, or bypassed it. The bike I built not knowing anything about these bikes so please excuse my ignorance with regards to battery amps, volts, controller amps etc. The reason I disconnected it as like I said, at 72v it was shutting off, brand new battery, and I was left to push t...

Re: Stealth bomber clone help

I'm posting / saying so much because I want to be sure you understand where the problems are, and how to fix them. But we do need complete info from you on what you have, as well. The info we give you can only be as specific as the info we get from you. ;) It sucks for stuff to break, and especially...

Re: Stealth bomber clone help

It would be helpful if you would post a picture of all of the hardware that came with your motor and your swingarm, because we could give you better advice. Lay it all out on something it contrasts with, so it's easily visible, and take pictures from above and the side and at an oblique angle, so we...

Re: Stealth bomber clone help

Please note that those torque arms are pretty thin compared to the dropout, so they won't hold it as thoroughly as the dropout would if it were correctly made, and if it were a clamping type (with a bolt thru the end of the actual dropout, vertically from top part to bottom). If you have not yet loo...

Re: Stealth bomber clone help

If the axle can rotate at all in the dropouts, even wiggle, then it is not sitting flat in there, and the dropouts are either damaged (spread open) or not made right in the first place (too wide an axle gap--it should be 10mm from the top flat of the dropout slot to the bottom flat, inside the dropo...

Re: Courier ebike project advice

Bigger tires are less efficient, they have more rolling resistance, but will certainly leave space in the frame for 2.5 tires, I can always put skinnier tires if I want more range. I'm not sure I'm using the right words to express this stuff but: It's not just the tire size, it's how stiff they are...

Re: Looking for a trustworthy front hub motor

There's a few options listed in this search https://www.google.com/search?q=650A+32+hole+rims+-650B+-650C though I don't know if they have them in stock or not. Or perhaps they all have the wrong size listed and they're not really 650A, if they're ones you've already found and tried. Or I might be c...

Re: Need buttons for Bafang C965 Display

Does this button unit just plug into the rest of the system, using one of those "higo" waterproof connectors? If so, try unplugging and replugging it, pushing it *firmly* and completely together (with any arrows lined up). Some of them are a little difficult to get snugly plugged in, and m...

Re: Building 4wd

If you've already setup two with common controls, etc., then four should be the same, unless there is some specific restriction with the hardware you are using that prevents that. If you want the system to have one set independent from the other for any reason, or in any way, then you'd need to sepa...

Re: Stealth bomber clone help

It moves because the dropouts are damaged or not made correctly and are not flush flat with the axle flats. The nuts don't hold the axle in place from rotation. They just keep it on the bike. The flats of the axles, along with the flats of the dropouts, keep the axle from rotating. The torque arm or...

Re: Stealth bomber clone help

Yeah, your dropouts are already damaged and spread out (or they aren't made right in the first place), which is why your axle is sitting in there at an angle. It should sit flat in there with the flat faces of the axle against the flat faces of the dropouts, and not be able to rock back and forth *a...

Re: Looking for ESC that can default to a specific profile.

The only thing left for me to decide is what motor controller to use. The ability to have it default to road legal descretely is just too important for me. I haven't checked the project recently, but the Opensource FirmWare for the KT series of controllers and displays (see casainho's and/ or stanc...

The BMS is 50amp and I disconnected the discharge as it was cutting out battery at 72v and wouldn't come back on until I charged it. Now it has a little more torque and no issues but BMS is still connected for charging. The battery is 20s/12p and from what I can see the Samsung 35E cells are 5 amp ...

Re: Ebike riding with a speaker and lots and lots of lights?

Have you looked at those lights that project a bike lane? Most of them are tail lights but you could probably disable the tail light function and just use the bike lane function and mount it on a handlebar. That might work for letting people know you're coming up behind them at night and how you're...

If you've been reading ES over the years, or look thru my threads, you'll have an idea of the things I can help with. Will accept flexible compensation given my present financial situation. I have limited ability to go places (a few miles from the Metrocenter area in Phoenix, AZ, USA), but you can c...

Assorted bicycle frames, wheels, Motorized Wheelchair Lift, other stuff-- Local Pickup Only Phoenix, AZ, USA

I've got a number of old regular bike frames and wheels and assorted other stuff available for the next few days only (after that it has to go away). That's all old stuff kept to build other things from. If you're industrious you could build actual bikes from them, I suppose. May have some old motor...

Re: Sabvoton 72150 help

What's the max continuous current limit on the battery's BMS? That is your limiting factor for running the bike.

You can set a peak current as high as the peak battery limit, but you don't want to use that for more than a few seconds at a time.

Re: Cycle Analyst Throttle Settings

Most likely you're getting LVC cutout on the controller from too much voltage sag on the batteries under load. That link says it's LVC is 40 ± 0.5 V. It could also be the CA doing it per it's own LVC (which you can change in the settings)--typically the CA setting and controller setting should be th...

Re: Looking for ESC that can default to a specific profile.

Ability to have lights and brake lights are fairly important, as I ride nights quite a bit, but I can allways use an external module and have no brake lights. It's easy enough to setup brake lights that work off whatever ebrake lever you are using, especially if that lever is just grounding a signa...

Slow down a little, and try shorter sentences or more punctuation. This makes things clearer and easier to read, which makes it much more likely to get a useful response from helpers. :) (In my experience, the harder someone has to work to help, the less likely it is they will do so) Just finished m...
