As your battery capacity decreases with wear, so should the expectation of how much current it outputs.
As well as how much current it can take during a charge. ;)

Re: TSDZ2 120mm Axle Broke for the 2nd time on my Fatbike

I don't see any images, but if it is the rear axle in the wheel you're talking about, I don't know how it could break from the motor power/etc. If instead of axle you mean crankshaft (where the pedals attach) on the TSDZ2 itself, then where exactly is it breaking? If it's outboard of a circlip groov...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

First, what voltage is your battery pack? Second, are you using a torque sensor like the THUN that is powered from the 10v line off the CA's PAS connector? If the battery is high enough voltage, and the second is true, then see here: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=37964&start=...

Re: MAC motor hub not engaging

If you have any PB Blaster, the catalyst portion, you can try getting some behind the freewheel (inboard side) so it gets down into the threads, and from the front of the freewheel (outboard side), but it may not do anything. May take more than a day to penetrate, depending on fit of threads. Before...

The one catch with teflon insulation is that it is fragile to pressure/pinching, especially from sharp edges, such as those on the edges of motor axles. I've had a number of teflon-insulated wires damaged by various pressure-induced cuts, including once from zipties inside a motor tying the wire bun...

Re: The SB Cruiser: Amberwolf&Dogman's 2WD CargoTrike&DogCarrier

There was no change in the problem with the alternate pack. However, on my way home last night, about halfway home at a stop light, the left motor began surging repeatedly without me touching the throttle and I had to hold the ebrake until the light turned green. It no longer responded to my input o...

Re: All-In-One Motor

Our issue is that most ebike motors on the market have the wires coming out of the stationary (with respect to the bike frame) axel. Like mentioned earlier, if the wires came out of the axel they would eventually need to go back inside the wheel to be connected to the other components but since tho...

Unless it is a cassette version, then there's no need to open up the motor. The bike-chain sprocket cluster is just a separate thread-on freewheel, which may be available at your local bike shop (along with the removal tool). If not, you can order them online from various places (I know http://ebike...

Don't they use the IEC connector on the charger itself, with a separate cord? If so, you can simply use the cord off of anything else that has that same plug (must be a lot of stuff out there).

Well, the colors on the wiring harness might match the original throttle wire colors, but there's no reason they would match any other throttle (there is no "standard"). Commonly, from the throttle, red is 5v, and black is ground, and whatever is left is the throttle out signal, but those are not un...

Re: The SB Cruiser: Amberwolf&Dogman's 2WD CargoTrike&DogCarrier

THrottle voltage varies normally and smoothly, even if I tap on it, so it's not something in there causing it. HOwever, the problem *is* worse teh lower the battery voltage gets, though it does not sag enough to be causing this, from waht I can see on teh CA display. I rechecked all the cell voltage...

if the controller already has an internal shunt, would not the external added shunt (from CA) just ad a little more resistance to de circuit? It's so small it's irrelevant. Then, at the V3.0 installation manual it say you just have to plug the throttle cable from the CA to the controller, but what ...

Re: Prodeco Phantom X2 folding bike

Prodeco is your best bet for wiring diagrams. Perhaps the original owner may still have the original battery; even if it's dead you can open it up to determine wiring. If it didn't originally have a throttle, and just used PAS, you may have to change to a different controller to be able to add one. ...

Since the power button and seems to automatically turn it on, and doesn't turn it back on, perhaps the button itself is stuck on. Many (most) common ebike controllers are not FOC; they just use the phases and halls to control the motor. (or just phases, no halls, running entirely sensorless). Some work better than others, and some work better with some motors than ohters, but mostly they just all work. Most of them are trapezo...

Another option is to build your own large hub with lots of room inside, with a plate mounted to the axle for bolting motor batteries and controller to. We are trying to make an all in one rear bike hub with all the components inside the wheel. You could look for a used BionX D series motor, which has a fair bit of space inside, and use a ...

Loose sense wire or cold solder joint on the BMS could do it, if the BMS shuts off whenever it loses votlage on the sense wire (some of them just ignore that wire compeltely if there's zero voltage on it, which is why some packs die of overcharging or overdischarging a cell group when sense wires br...
