Re: Compilation of good motors ? (no kits, just the motor)

I dont' know about a high-power-only list, but there is a motor info spreadsheet that should let you pick what you want out of it.

Re: bluetooth BMS?

These 3 CZT5551 NPN transistors and 3 more on the other side of the board all look like they are in parallel. Perhaps they make up the power component for a regulator somehow? If they are depletion-mode FETs, then they can be used as a regulator the same way the Cycle Analyst from Grin Tech does it...

Re: How to reverse motor direction - old Chinese car

Controller has big 23pin signals connector. One of wires is probably FWD/REV function. Unfortunatelly I have no idea which one. So as you said, maybe this wire was somehow grounded/ungrounded during reassembly. (unintentionally...weak connection). Connectors look good, so I dont think so, but maybe...

Re: The SB Cruiser: Amberwolf&Dogman's 2WD CargoTrike&DogCarrier

I wear regular glasses (bifocals) which do an ok job of keeping crap out of my eyes, though not perfect. I have a set of goggles (3M UV-filtering) my brother gave me that I use for grinding/etc at home, but they aren't ventilated well so they dont' work well for riding; face gets sweaty under them a...

Re: First DIY Build - input needed (I read the FAQ!)

That and/or figure out how to reconfigure it so that the bike will operate without it. It'll power on and operate the motor without one as long as you short the battery-out and switched-battery-in pins together. Sometimes you also have to short the two data lines together. But it might be stuck in ...

Re: trying to repair an e-bike

I know there's been a short circuit in the connector between the display and the controller If there was a short between the battery voltage (which is on at least two pins) and the data lines, it could've destroyed the data communications chips in both display and controller, which means neither on...

FWIW, it sounds like bits off of old powerchairs and big UPS units (that's where most of mine came from, with similar wire lengths and fuses). :) They work great for big but reliable connections that won't just come loose.

Re: How to reverse motor direction - old Chinese car

I am quite sure that all wires are reconnected to the same places. Then it is strange that it is running backwards. :/ Unless the encoder was physically removed from the motor and reinstalled offset so it is reading magnets incorrectly (assuming that's what it does), I don't know a reason it would ...

Re: If you were to build a 48v Tesla module battery...

Build to the application, and it works fine. I'm actually using regular recycled bicycle wheels on my trailer that I haul the dogs and dogfood with, and they've survived it so far, but it's only about half the load the pedicabs he's talking about see, and are not doing it all day long day after day....

Re: Single-speed track stealth ultralight

Perhaps you didn't read the other info posted above, but this is a geared motor with a clutch. With a gear motor that has an internal clutch (almost all of them) it can't make any difference at all. The clutch prevents the motor from spinning the wheel in reverse, which means it also prevents the wh...

Just so you know, in case you're needing them for a DC application: Regardless of what that page tries to tell you, the big breakers on that page are designed for AC, not DC, so they are not guaranteed to actually break a DC connection under load. They might, or they might not. You can look up the p...

Re: Has anyone ever blown a IGH hub?

I guess it depends on how tight things are in the dropouts, and how strong the dropouts are at the flats of the IGH axle width, and how much torque is being applied to taht spot. I have an old IGH (Shimano 333? or was it an old SA?) in the frame of SB Cruiser for the pedal drivetrain (can't be in th...

Or you could contribute to one or more of the other existing OS controller projects, to improve them / add features. :)

(based on what I've seen of various dev projects, designing your own will probably take you years, where contributing to existing one might be months as you learn the ropes).

Re: Is my frame in danger ?

In my experience, at the same lower power levels, a geared hub is more likely than a DD hub to be able to pry dropouts apart, regardless of frame material. I expect its' from: --the torque multiplication of the gearing in the hub --the narrower axle flats most of the geared hubs seem to have vs the ...

Re: Satellite scooter not working

Probably the other relay is supposed to be engaged by disengaging the brake, so most likely either there is a wiring problem (bad connection, broken wire, etc) or a bad brake switch causing no connection to engage that relay, or the relay itself is failed. That's what is wrong with the little kicksc...

There are many kinds of breakers, and not all are interchangeable.

What do you want this one to do, and what specifically is it for?

AC? DC? Voltage? Trip current? Sustained no-trip current?

Size limitation? Budget?

Four and a half years ago, again on CB2, I flatted a rim on pothole I couldnt' see because it was in a lake in hte middle of the road. Not a giant hole, but big enough. Same motor as the first and third posts, and probably half the spokes. (can't recall for sure). https://endless-sphere.com/forums/v...

The one before that was similar to the first post, but it was on CrazyBike2. Somehow, AFAICT, we've gone a whole decade without a thread to collect pothole damage pics. So now we have one to show off your carnage.
