Re: Dogman Dans E bike burns his house.

I had a Yamaha 400, and just got another 400 but this time the Suzuki burgman. 5000 miles on it, so ready for some long rides this summer. Planning to take off a bit this summer, since I'm not chained to the E bikekit chat anymore. Van and trailer, with e bike, scoot, and a kayak. Let me know if yo...

In New Mexico natural gas production is declining? http://www.naturalgasintel.com/sanjuaninfo While coal production is increasing? https://climatewest.org/2016/05/04/a-dark-year-for-coal-gives-new-hope-for-transition/ Meanwhile we are closing coal plants and energy prices are increasing. Charging that big of a pack is also an issue. Even at 1500w that would take a while to charge safely. Maybe, two similar size packs would be easier to manage and you could have several smaller packs that you could use like reserve wh's?

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

I saw a slide like this showing a couple trans-oceanic trips plus 3-4 cross country truck trips from farming fiber to the final sale of a pair of jeans which stated 6 tons. More quick googling: A an average large container ship emits 150gm CO2 per 20ft shipping container per nautical mile sailed: h...

Re: Cordless Tool Packs (DeWalt 60V in Particular)

I have used Greenworks 40v batteries for short rides, but bigger tool batteries are coming from Ryobie http://toolguyd.com/new-ryobi-18v-high- ... ery-packs/

And I like the Ryobi tool line so I might try them when available and affordable. Would love to use them in my kids electric scooters?

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

Excellent article on wind power being cheaper than natural gas in NM. Not an expert on the maths, but it seems there are some energy cost savings involved and the claim is that wind energy is cheaper than abundant natural gas from the Permian Basin (the soon to be bigger than Saudia Arabian Ghawar ...

Is there anyway possible I can hit 40 mph on a flat without pedaling, maybe by swapping out to a better controller and without changing my other equipment? I'm keeping it a 48v system for now (battery is 52v). There's got to be a way without raising the voltage. Lipo booster packs too increase volt...

Re: Fast chargers for 72 volt- li-ion pack ?

Was looking for a home charger that runs off 120 volt AC...I guess there aren't many inexpensive fast chargers { 6-10 amps} that will also go into trickle charge mode near the end of the charge to top off the li-ion cells ? Power supply fills that function. Many subscribe to the theory that the fin...
