Re: Stinky with 80-100 and Nuvinci. NEXT BIKE Teaser pic ins

NEXT BIKE! This is an early design concept teaser pic. The frame will be possible thanks to Cartesian CNC profiling and bending http://www.cartesiantube.com/ http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/918/newframe.png I have not decided on power train yet. I am aiming for 7 kW/hr or more of capacity. Detail...

Re: Super sized stand-up Scooter project. Build thread

Wow! You have been busy. That is not quite what I had thought of. I did not realize at the the top of the suspension the knuckle was higher than the chain (granted chain was pulled tight/straight). Does it work how it is setup now? Ideally you need to constrain the chain to the width of the drive sp...

Re: Super sized stand-up Scooter project. Build thread

why not revise the pivot point as the shaft of a jack shaft? A bearing hoding 2 gears on that shaft would allow a chain from the motor to the pivot, and a chain from the pivot to the back wheel, eliminating chain stretch during suspension movement, and the stresses a drive chain under tension would...

Re: Super sized stand-up Scooter project. Build thread

You dont want the tension side of the chain under the knuckle. The motor will try to pull the suspension up under load. Everytime you hit a large bump the suspension travel will shock back torque through the chain into the motor.

Re: Super sized stand-up Scooter project. Build thread

The idler carrier rotates on the same axis as your suspension knukle. The idlers contrain tthe chain to the same width as the motor drive sproket. This allows the swing arm to move up and down without tighteneing or loosening the chain. Essentially this design does the same thing as adding a double ...

If you build a two idler setup like I posted you wont have to deal with a sprung tensioner.

Re: Stinky, 80-100, Nuvinci, and Lipo in swing arm. NEW VIDE

Excellent! I will investigate the shock oil thanks! I am expecting a loss in efficiency. I am combating it in two ways. The motor is going to be a 9 turn to reduce it's speed w bit. Secondly I intend on strapping on a bunch more lipo :-D

Re: Stinky, 80-100, Nuvinci, and Lipo in swing arm. NEW VIDE

I have had one motor failure in 1000 miles. I had almost 2kW/hr lipo aboard and I did about 50mph to max of 58mph for about 4 miles without dropping below 40mph ever. Toasted the motor. It was worth it though to find out where it's limit was. The motor I toasted was a stock 130kv wind. With the stan...

Re: All this Time "Backordered," HobbyKing Drops the 80100s?

I just received an EMail that STARTS with "Your request has been deemed solved." Oh thou deems, deems thou? They remark about "Store Credit," but no refund, so no, it's not solved. I have responded that they'll either send me the motors or a refund. I'm still curious about this ...

IDGAF what the price is at this point. Sky Hobby is reliable and always in stock. I have also received motors from HK and Leader Hobby. So far my best experience has been with Sky Hobby and will be where I order from next. I only buy these for cores to rewind.

Re: Achtung ! Cheap C8085 KV250 !

$150 was with EMS shipping. They are just a distributor. you can actually get an 80-100 from them from 2 different manufactures, Aeolian and ATN. They did not have any black Aeolians in stock so I went with the standard orange ATN/EMP/Turnigy.

They are NOT discontinued. You can get them at Sky Hobby in up to 5000 units a month. There is no minimum quantity I just received one 80-100 for $150 shipped to the US. I used my paypal it was quick and easy and I got my motor in 4 days. http://skyhobby.en.alibaba.com/product/476092519-212631801/AT...

I have had mine for abt a year and never broken a swash or had the bearing come out... i recently got an aluminum swash but my original stock one was still perfectly fine. I think yours failing was just a fluke. Usually they just break or loose conecting links. If you get the micro heli aluminum hea...

I love my mcpx I probably fly it almost every day! I've probably crashed mine 500 times mainly trying to throw a 3d trick when the batt is getting low. They are relentlessly durable. I dont reccomend the weighted blades for any flying at all. From hovering all the way to my messy attempts at tic toc...

Re: Turnigy 80-100-B up for the challenge?

You must define what 4 batteries means. You need at least 1 kW/hr to go 50 mph for maybe 2-3 miles... this means you need minimum 8 6s 5,000 mah packs. 8 packs gives you 12s (50 volt) 20,000 mah or 20 ah. 50volts * 20 ah = 1000 w/h or 1 kW/hr
