Re: Adventures in Lipo Recovery

I have 4- 6s packs that I left hooked up in series to a lyen controller on my back-up bike for several weeks after a ride. They got down to less than 1v per cell. I had to bulk charge them above 2.5v at first because the HK eco 6 showed a low voltage error and wouldn't charge them. I have at least 1...

Best answer: YES
Best reason: It's customizable multi-functionality
Best alternative: Haven't found one yet

Re: Ever Been Pulled Over by Police on Your eBike?

Not yet, in over 10,000 miles of high speed urban commuting. They see me and leave me be :D
However, that will change as e-biking becomes more common around here. All good things eventually come to an end...

Excellent job on your 2nd build, a nice creative battery solution and I know it rides smooth too. It's good to have another high speed e-bike here in KC.

Re: Controller seems to be stuck in regen mode?

I checked with a meter and there are no shorts between phases. However, when green phase wire is disconnected the wheel spins normally.

Re: Controller seems to be stuck in regen mode?

Thanks for the replies. Yes, the wheel has a notched feel when turning, but only when connected to the controller. It turns normally when disconnected. I disconnected the regen loop and it makes no difference, it still 'notches' when phase wires are connected to the controller whether the power is o...

Controller seems to be stuck in regen mode?

Here's the story - Was not able to program the regen on Lyen 18fet HV controller, it was set to engage whenever throttle was released. So, I disconnected the regen jumper and it worked fine - except no regen. Then I thought of running the regen jumper through one of my e-brake levers, it worked! for...

Re: building ebikes for other people?

I just did a conversion for a friend a few weeks ago. I showed her what was available in factory-built bikes online and she decided to let me do a conversion on hers for less money. So far it is working great, but if it breaks, I am sure I'll be the 1st to know.

Re: 3rd build- Custom FS Longtail (New & Improved)

I like your design so much so that I am starting to get a few bits and pieces together to start building a frame on those lines. Can you tell me what size is the angle iron? If you were going to build another frame, would you go any lighter in the steel you used? Does the frame flex at all or is it...

Sorry, I should've mentioned, it's a rear hub - disc ready w/ 7 spd freewheel. You can use rim brakes, it's a double wall rim.

Re: HS3540 in 24in wheel (not working)

did you try the motor with a sensor less controller? No I haven't, I don't have one to check it with. I have read several threads on c-lyte motor problems and it acts like a hall sensor problem. It accelerates briefly then power cuts out, let off on throttle and it does it again. if you pump the th...

HS3540 in 24in wheel (Sold)

I have a new HS3540 that has never worked. It has a defective or shorted hall sensor, I believe. Mounted on a Alex DX32 rim. $185.00 shipped in US

I have been considering the stealth bomberbut still feel it looks rather large around the frame and obviously stands out. This is a recurring theme and I hear it often. And I own a stealth too! Alot of people come to me asking for kits with the power of a fighter or bomber and would love to have th...

The rake angle was too slack and the frame shape too awkward and long. Also wanted to integrate easier access to batteries.

Finding the balance between manuvering and handling like a bike and performing like a motorcycle is a tricky thing. Wheelbase & rake are critical.

Throttle wiring question

I am hooking up a 3-wire throttle, Red-White-Black to a infineon controller Red-Green-Black. Do I hook-up the white throttle wire to the green controller wire? I thought I read somewhere on here 'but can't find it now' that you have to hook it up as follows Throttle - Controller Red - Red Green - Bl...
