Re: 52V Battery wont charge past 80%
Measure the voltage of the charger when it's not connected to the battery. Measure the voltage again, when the charger is connected to the battery. The voltage should be about 58.8V in the max setting when not connected to the battery. If the voltage drops to around 55V and stays there, when it's co...

Re: BBSHD, Help with 08H code
First, I just want to say that I would not hesitate to buy anything from EM3EV again. They are a great vendor with fantastic customer service! However, I must warn you that the BBSHD may have some quality issues as per my own personal experience. I spent just over 2K for a kit and the motor went ou...

Re: New Samsung cell 33G
The question is whether this cell is really produced by Samsung or they just sold a crappy 35E recipe to China. Samsung has a good reputation for not exaggerating the specs, the 10C raises an eye brow here. The overenthusiastic list of specs seems to favor the initial speculation. Meanwhile, both E...

Re: Samsung 21700, 3Ah , 30A discharge.
Yes, i will wait for the 5Ah , 3C, version. There is talk of a 48G 21700 from Samsung. It's an EV grade/type cell, and I'm guessing it will be a bigger version of the 33G cell that is currently available (~3.15Ah, 18650, not a high power, 2C cont. 3C max, fairly high energy density but with ...

Re: AllCell Battery Fire
Most BMS should have no problem handling some regen current when the battery is at a low state of charge. Most bms are a 3 wire type, that have a seperate charge and discharge cable. 2 wire type shares the charge and discharge on the same cable. 2 wire type requires more mosfets to handle the same c...

battery fire2.jpg Thanks for your responses everyone. Yes I'm a beginner and this is my first e bike. Re: Samsung 21700, 3Ah , 30A discharge.
Well apparently, yeah these cells can genuinely deliver serious current without breaking a sweat. Whilst I'd say 30A per cell might be pushing it, but if they can do 15 or 20A without being stressed, that is already very impressive and is better than any 18650 cells that are readily available. I wil...

Re: AllCell Battery Fire
Sure, not an invalid point and that is only 1 of several points made. I also stated that i don't know the specs of the battery and I'd be happy to be proven wrong (I've since had a look and it seems like their typical 36V packs are bigger than i thought, so my point is likely invalid). The battery m...

Re: Samsung 21700, 3Ah , 30A discharge.
This cell is intended for power tools. Other samsung cells in this format will come with higher capacity, but lower discharge rates soon. I'm aware of this cell and can possibly get some, but my thoughts were that it wasn't great for most users, as the capacity is no more than a 30q, and the dischar...

Re: AllCell Battery Fire
What model of Allcell battery are you using, what is the capacity? Some observations: 1. I don't see a battery fire, as in, I don't see cells that have gone into thermal runaway and burnt. I see a burnt out BMS, maybe some burnt cables, not more. Happy to be proven wrong. 2. Your practice of running...

cheers. that sounds acceptable. I would want to fit at least either a 18" with 3.00 or a 19" in 2.75, but the moped rims will be a little wider than the DH bicycle rims I guess The rims I'm talking about are 57mm inside width, which is somewhere between a fat bike rim and a wide DH rim. T...

Even using a mobile whilst sitting behind the wheel of a stationary car with the motor running is considered an offence. If you are pulled over for suspicion, the...

My friend has my bike right now, so I can't take a picture of the fitment. I have 24" bike rim (57mm inside diameter) on my frame, with a 24*3" tyre and it is not a super tight fit to the swing arm.joe81 wrote:what is the biggest 19" tire/rim that can fit the tight swing arm?

Re: Thoughts on split pack
The best way to build a split 14s pack, is by using 2pcs of 7s each with it's own BMS IMPO (2 wire type).
Using a single bms and linking the split packs, or paralleling 2pcs of 14s, are both liable to have some sort of issue. Not saying you can't do it, but I don't recommend it.

... The new version front has cable entrance on the side, rather than through the axle. That is a big plus. Now for a temperature sensor as well. I've personally been fitting a temp sensor in Mac motors for maybe 3 years. I'm sure Mac fit them for others too. I spoke with Mac today, regarding the 0...
