Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Hi Guys, Any ideas when we will start seeing video and reviews on Dave's mid-drive? I really am looking forward to this.Since I'm an extreme newbie on e-bike stuff I will have to follow you experienced guys and also make sure Dave has all the bugs worked out. However even a newbie can see the high q...

Re: LightningRods mid drive kit

I really enjoy reading this thread even though its well above my level. Just curious about a couple of things, 1.It seems like some bike brands/frames take to the LR kit much better and easier than others.True or False? 2.Would a gear sensor like the one Lectric Cycle uses with their e-Rad mid drive...

Very minor point but I see the sides of the Adaptto is black instead of green. I never understood the green as it doesnt match anything. :D

Geez Guys, look at Allex's hand.No oil stained skin.No gunk under the finger nails. See this is what happens when you go from gasoline engine powered bikes to electric bikes!

Re: Asynchronous motors - is induction the new future?

Is anyone familiar with the company ThinGap? They have made thousands of motors for Industry and the 4 branches of defense service.I emailed them and they replied back stating: Thanks for your interest in our motors. The basic reason that our motors are lighter and run cooler than traditional copper...

Change the graphite to silicon in lithium batteries.Smaller,longer-lasting,more energy. They hope to be on the market next year. http://www.treehugger.com/clean-technology/smaller-longer-lasting-and-cheaper-batteries-could-store-twice-energy.html “Graphite has long been used to build the negative el...

Mike you've really made my day with this update, the way the motors are coming and the torque sensing possibilities. I can see my Luna project is going to be something special. Todd Hi Marin, Hey would you be able to make some decent videos of your Luna when its all finished and to your liking? The...

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

It seems the most common controller to run these Astro motors are regular RC ESC. Have not seen those in sine wave. It seems Adaptto and other high E-rpm's controllers will work with those Astro motors. I hope someone will test and share. So what would it take to make the Tangent sine wave compatib...

Re: LightningRods mid drive kit

Anyone have a good way of locking out their upper adjusters (jack shaft)? I've got over 1000km so far and over the last few days (~60Km) I've noticed my adjustment nuts have been coming loose...should I be locktighting with removable? I tried doubling up the nuts but they both seemed to vibrate loo...

Don't any of you Stealthers use trailers or sidecars for grocery runs or hauling the kids around? Ha!

A trailer would seem to be handy at times.

Happy E-Biking Folks.

Re: PAnasonic 18650 3400mah

Riba, I think it would be cool if you would make a recommend list for the assorted 18650 batteries.I mean for example for e-bikes,so many ask if this or that 18650 is good or not. The list would change over time due to battery technology.I know many would appreciate it. Some e-bikers want longest ra...

Re: LightningRods mid drive kit

Question: If it has four wheels and power assist are you getting into a weird place with the law? If it has three wheels it can be Chevy V8 powered and it's still a motorcycle. Do the pedals keep this a "cycle" instead of a motorized vehicle? Although the state laws except a very few have not kept ...

Re: LightningRods mid drive kit

Marc, You definitely could add battery boxes on each side just under where you sit attached to frame. You obviously want equal weight on each side and too the weight would be low and centered. The real issue isn't adding everything you need to go electric. But rather can your trike frame handle all th...

Re: LightningRods mid drive kit

What would be bad ass is a LR kit on any of these 3 or 4 wheel trikes! Pics from Utah Trikes.I'm seriously wanting a trike or quad for winter transportation. And would need electric drive for the snow as I would tire out much to fast trying to pedal thru several inches of snow.

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

As far as I know there aren't any 24" moped tires, and I like 24" wheels on my bicycles. Wear isn't really a problem with most of the tires I've tried, and only the rear for these Hook Worms. I don't really mind, because changing tires is so easy, and it gives me something to work on, on my bike. P...
