Re: 2x E-Max 110s 4Kw mopeds Silver and Black for sale on ebay

These are great scooters, I have the Vectrix VX-2 and they share the frame and most of the body panels, motor etc. mine only has the sevcon controller. They are a little bit bigger than the average scooter, great road handling, comfortable, original battery weighs a tat over 100 kilo's (48V 60Ah Lea...

Re: EU Road Legal Electrification (???)

Not want to discourage you in your attempt to license your transformed ICE motorcycle or scooter to electric ( which involves insurance, paperwork, VIN numbers, and possible Certificate of Conformity papers and EMC approval ) but I tried to get some info on this topic, digging deep and hard in Belgi...

Re: Is this legit? Greentime on Aliexpress

I was all in favour of Leo of Greentime controllers and chargers, up until recently when I ordered 3 chargers and two 18 FET 65 amp controllers from him, all 3 chargers where wired incorrectly, while the label said blue = minus and brown = plus.. guess what happens when I plugged in the battery........

Re: E-scooter Tisong with 3000W engine & Lyen controller SLO

I had the same problem with my e-scooter (Huasang/Cilent) it drove only 32-34 kmh on 16S LiFePO, the same voltage as you have, since then I upped the voltage to 84 Volt and now it goes well over 50 kmh. You are limited by your controller which is rated to 75 volt max ( better use 70 volt max ) so po...

Re: Gio PB710 60 volt controller where to buy?

Looks to me that your controller is a very basic 6 mosfet Chinese controller that one can buy for under 20 USD ( shipped ), If you want more performance go for a higher end 12 mosfet controller, even for a cheap one you could have 1000-1500 watts of potential power for 30-40 USD + shipping, both the...

Re: 24fet controller with torn wires - need help restoring t

Definitely not a Greentime controller, whole different layout, yours has white PCB vs. green one from Greentime.
Looks like it´s mangled pretty good, sorry can´t help you with the wiring on this one, soldering job looks iffy as well.

Re: Greentime controllers

Thanks for the reply! I actually did some more research and hooked up a 3 speed switch the other day. I didn't get any extra current but it did help me achieve a higher top speed. If I lift the wheel up and go full throttle I can definitely hear the tire spin up faster each time I flip the switch, ...

Re: Greentime controllers

I recently received my 15 fet 4410 45amp controller. I am only getting about 36 amps peak from the battery. Is this something that can be easily adjusted? Hi Michael, I ordered a 24 fet controller some time ago from Greentime ( Leo ) and I thought it was low powered too, I asked for a tuned down co...

Re: Lyen 12 fet sensorless blown EB312

Update: Lyen did his stuff, he replaced the cables and the shunt, so for 45 dollar including 2 X shipping and repair it's working again.

As far as I know nothing else was broken, no caps or mosfets, so although it smoked like hell and looked horrible, I got away lucky.

Re: How to build a individual 18650 battery pack, Example 12

Very nice pack, very well made, only one thing about those charge / discharge plugs ( red ones 4mm ) I use them too but they do get warm at 50 amp draw, I personally would upgrade them to 5.5 mm plugs or something heavier.

Re: Lyen 12 fet sensorless blown EB312

Curious as I am, I tested the controller anyway, but first I had to clean up the the molten solder mess ( see photo 1 and 2 ), so I used a solder sucker to get rid of the excess solder that caused a short between source and drain of the " yellow" or 1th phase. Then I tested like dnmun asked, red pro...

Would love to toy around with this, but I got word from Lyen that I can send the unit back to him, he will try to repair it for me, which I think is excellent service, kudo's for Lyen!!! I hope he can repair it for me, I can make a nice battery pack, maybe even hook up a BMS and charger to it or cha...

Re: Lyen 12 fet sensorless blown EB312

Thanks for the explanation, so this is definitely beyond my knowledge of electronics, but question is: would it be totally unrepairable in the right hands, components would cost next to nothing but if all mosfets died too then it is really not very cost effective to repair it / let it repair It's a ...

Re: Lyen 12 fet sensorless blown EB312

As you can see on the second photo, the solder got so hot it melted from the traces, the controller was in a vertical position when it happened, so the solder dripped down, the little black component ( bottom view ) was directly under the shunt wire which caused the heat and i'm still puzzled what i...

Lyen 12 fet sensorless blown EB312

So tonight I wanted to make a nice little drive just before it would be dark, so I was a bit in a hurry to connect my battery to the controller, poor visibility and me having a brain-fart led to me having the wrong battery connector connected to my controller. I connected my 4S battery directly to t...

Re: 2 ichargers 106B blown in one go!!!

i did not know you could put the charger onto one cell like that. did you try to use the discharger before it blew up or after? you can still charge up with the bulk charger since you have a BMS and just put a big power resistor or some other load on the high cells to drain them down. Believe me, I...

2 ichargers 106B blown in one go!!!

This ain't my lucky night, I've just blown 2 Ichargers 106B for imho no reason, what did I do wrong and how can I fix it. Re: Best bang for buck battery; A123 pouch cell???

I personally would go with a Clyte HT, and run this at high voltage, especially in a 26 inch rim, I have a HS in 24 inch rim and I think it's too slow in acceleration and gets hot ( 80 C ) on top speed of 55 kmh , I got the feeling I can not push it much more than these power levels, but then again ...

Re: A123 20Ah O.K for winter use.

The best I can do is, make the battery packs detachable from the bike and bring them in the living space to charge and storage just to be sure, only bring them out for a ride ( directly ), last winters were not that cold anyway, maybe only 2-3 weeks of real cold temperatures and the rest in the 0 to...

So I understand it's not good to charge under 10 celcius and increasingly worse towards freezing, but this is just the charging part and is maybe not telling the whole story, what about discharging or storage in cold weather, can I just let the packs sit on the bike when it's in my garage, it someti...

A123 20Ah O.K for winter use.

I was wondering now that the A123 20AH pouch cells are so "hot" and cheaply available, did anyone do a cold weather test on them, as in sticking a few cells in the freezer and run a few cycles through them just to see how they perform capacity, charge and- discharge wise. There seems not so much inf...

Re: CALB 70 AH Advice for newbie

There has been a bit of chat in regards to the 4V charge limit on the thundersky batteries - a lot of people reckon its pointless, as the surface charge burns off very fast - its an upper limit, not a recommendation. Some crappy BMS'es will allow the voltage to get that high. Of course it is totall...

Re: CALB 70 AH Advice for newbie

For all I know Calb and Thundersky are not exactly the same in terms of cycle life and also the charging cut off voltage is different, Thundersky cells can be charged up to 4 volts before cutoff and have cycle rate of 2000 cycles to 80 DOD and 3000 to 70% DOD Calb has 1000 cycles to 80% DOD and can ...
