Maybe a second battery not parallel . On the rear rack. How often do you fold the bike ? May be a shark style under the top tube.

Re: External battery for Radrover mini

Pig tailing will violate his warranty for his original battery. Yes better to parallel for long life less stress. Well void battery warranty on original model. First let's talk about the warranty that came with the bike can you cut solder and add wires and a battery to existing system. Oh did I say ...

Re: LiFePO4 Recommendation?

Hello I I guess it's a 9fet 30amp controller .The controller controls so having a better battery would be less stress on a better battery or should have longer life. But It would take 5 yrs of real use. Plus human error over 5 years

Nifty 150 Thank you. Is the v2 kit the same dimensions. What is a good material relatively cheap to use for bus bars brass or aluminum 1 series busbar instead of stacking them. Si ?

Re: Rebuilding my 48V 14AH 18650 Pack 13S7P to 13S8P

You have to be careful with a home made soldered battery pack and with assorted cells. Lots of soldered connections. I only say these as I have had a battery fire in my garage. A very bad thing. It doesn't need to be on fire to be a total lost. Things just melt. So be careful. Good luck.

If you dont balance the pack before you put on the. Bms it may take a week for the bms to help. Working it little bleed down resistors to death. Plus you will be asking way your pack won't balance.? ??

Re: Swapping bafang 350w hub to 750w

The small black and red go together. The small and large blue, green and yellow may need to be hook up different combo to work. Matching colors may not work. Just a little throttle with wheel in air and if rear wheel be careful of spinning crank if running backwards. If throttle does not make motor ...

I suggest you balance the pack to the same level before you attach the BMS. A bms is not meant to balance a mismatch pack a BMS is meant to keep a balance pack in balance. Put some sense wires on there for easy checking with a cell log.

Re: LiFePO4 Recommendation?

12s is fine as you can use A123 20ah at 80 amps or 40v X. 80amps 3,200 watts out of a home made pack. More money for controller. At 80amps they will last a long time. I charge at 16amps so fast charging. But these cells are of the highest quality if real. The recall happened 10 -12 or more years ago...

Just look up the reviews of the 2002 rocky mountain edge and there's a re call because of the rear dropouts failure. I guess I'll start looking at for other bikes with big triangle rear suspension

Re: LiFePO4 Recommendation?

I have A123 20ah cells big heavy great cell. 1,158 cycles 5yrs. A lot of weight in size to be lugging around at 24s. 16s is as big a bike can handle. Also these cells can be ripped out of packs made for cars and they will try to spot weld new tabs on old cells and resell them this is a very bad idea...

When it charges to just 54v what is the charger putting out ? The voltage will go down as soon as you hit the throttle. How much depends on quality of cells and ampage demand.

That kit has my interest. They have a V2 kit coming out soon. Higher amps better connections. Legos aren't for everybody.

Re: LiFePO4 Recommendation?

Mark5 refreshing. I guess a 30amp or less controller. Guessing. But you have a C.A. so you can adjust the amp draw. If Ping get a 15ah or more. You can turn the amp draw to 25amps or ? Make a box the size of the battery before buying.

Re: Controller and battery amps?

That battery is rated for 20amps and with 20ah of capacity. That's a very low rating for a 20 amp hour battery so they may be using lower-quality cells. A good 20ah battery should put out 30 or more amps. This may be a clue or may not.
