Re: BBS02 Replacement Secondary Reduction Gear

Thanks Speady. Found this listing: http://www.greenbikekit.com/accessories/bafang-8fun-spare-parts/bafang-8fun-mid-crank-motor-clutch-for-replacement.html Looks like they have the part, but they're referring to it as "crank motor kit clutches for replacement." I'm assuming this is the entire seconda...

BBS02 Replacement Secondary Reduction Gear

Does anyone have a resource for a replacement secondary reduction gear for a BBS02? I recently damaged my pinion and gear. The pinion seems fairly easy to come by, but the only place I've been able to find gear for sale (Luna) is backordered.

thanks for your help!

Upgrade from BBS02 to BBSHD w/ Samsung 29e Battery Pack?

I have a BBS02 purchased around 2.5 years ago from EM3EV. The secondary reduction had been making a racket for some time and I finally wrecked the pinion, trashing the secondary drive gear at the same time. Luna sells both parts, but the larger drive gear has been out of stock for ages. First, off, ...

Re: BBS02 "Rumbling" Under Pedal Power or Assist

Finally got around to re-greasing my BBS02. As noted by others, there wasn't a lot of grease in there. I purchased some SuperLube off of Amazon to give it a try. Packed it full, gave it a few rotations to let the gears move it around the case and re-packed them again. Re-assembled and all is well. S...

Thanks all. I'll look into both issues. Has Mobil 28 been determined the grease of choice for these?

BBS02 "Rumbling" Under Pedal Power or Assist

Hello, My BBS02 (purchased 18 months ago from EM3EV, only around 700 miles on the odometer, S/N 1408237823) has recently began feeling/sounding rough when accelerating forward, either under human or motor power. It initially seemed most pronounced when in lower gears (likely due to the higher revs a...

Re: 2014 Specialized Stumpjumper & Luna Cyclone 3000w

Nice build. I also like carrying the battery's weight on my person rather than on the bike, though I'm also struggling to find a robust (and retractable?) battery tether between the bike and backpack. If if you (or others) come up with an elegant solution, please report. thanks.

Re: Just picked up an Urban Mover UM70SX - Any info out ther

I just fired-up the UM70/EMAD with 12S and it's fun, though it's pretty squirrely at speed. I've tightened-up the trucks a bit and have the tires at around 25 psi. Any other setup recommendations to make this thing feel a bit more stable at speed? It seems like its only a matter of when, not if, I h...

Thanks LEVer. Didn't realize these were sold under different names.

After a little reading, I'm going to run 12S and cross my fingers!

Just picked up an Urban Mover UM70SX - Any info out there?

Greetings, First time posting in the E-Skateboard section. I just picked up a 6-7 year old Urban Mover UM70SX with old SLAs. 36V system 800W max supposedly. http://urbanmover.com/products/powerBoards/UM70SX.php I have a couple of 6S 10Ah multirotar packs that I was going to series together to run ar...

Re: Best dual suspension bike for a bbs01/2

I'm extremely happy with my 2006 Cannondale Prophet. 68mm bottom bracket, elevated chainstays so no chainring interference. Slack geometry for stable riding at speed. Relatively lightweight. 5.5" travel. Fairly inexpensive. Unfortunately no good spots for a battery, but that's the case with most fil...

Strongest 10 Speed Chain for Use with Bafang BBS02

I just replaced my 9 speed drivetrain with Shimano Zee (shadow+) derailleur, shifter, SLX 10 sp cassette and KMC X10.93 chain. The whole setup rides and shifts like a dream (Shadow+ is the real deal), though after only about 40 miles I broke my first chain (300+ miles on Sram 9 speed chain with no i...

Re: Upgrading 24V Homelite Mower to 48V

So as it happens the 40V Kobalt actually uses a 24V motor. The little black box must serve as a step-down transformer I suppose? For kicks I hooked-up the 48V ping directly to the 24V motor and it was apparent that it wouldn't last at this voltage. Sparks were flying from the motor, and there was a ...

Re: Upgrading 24V Homelite Mower to 48V

So I picked up a Kobalt 40V mower sans battery and charger on Craigslist for $40 yesterday. I am going to see if I can make it work with my big ol' Ping 48V/20Ah pack that I just don't have much of a use for on my bike. For the time being, I think I'm just going to strap the Ping to the rear of the ...

Re: Upgrading 24V Homelite Mower to 48V

Thanks for all of the advice. I may keep an eye out for a dead 48V mower on craigslist, as I really like the idea of the power of the 48V battery and not having to break apart the pack and BMS.

Upgrading 24V Homelite Mower to 48V

Starting to think about spring mowing here in the NW. I have a 24V Homelite UT13122 mower with dead SLAs and a missing charger. I also have a 4 year old Ping 48V 20Ah pack that's collecting dust in my garage. From what I've read, this mower can't handle a doubling of voltage, so I figured I'd explor...

Re: Bafang BBSxx - fault finding and fixes

I've now changed to a new cassette and chain. It all almost work fine. The front chain sometime fell off while riding. It happens most of the time when I change gears. Would that be because the chain isn't properly tensioned? Or maybe i need some front chain alignment guide? I too have experienced ...

River Rat, I assume the "pf" refers to press-fit. If so, I believe you're out of luck with that specialized.

The voltage is reading about 54V at the battery taps
Can the 36V BBS01 handle that high voltage? I would imagine that would exceed the upper voltage cutoff of the BBS01 controller.

Scalpels are pretty sweet, but not as upright/laid back as the prophet. More cross country. Probably decent conversion candidate though.

Re: Build of Bafang BBS02 from Greenbikekit

Mushymelon & Joshseitz, what are you guys powering yours with? I'm using a 50V 16.5Ah (14S6P) Samsung 29E pack from EM3EV. I actually ordered a rectangle pack to go in my camel back, but was sent a triangle pack instead. Working with Paul to get it resolved. The triangle pack fits in the backpack, ...
