Re: Investing in Li Batteries

Thanks for the input. 1 company is mining Canada and they are extending their area. Another is a neighboring area to a working mine. These 2 are hopefully able to make things work out. The other 2 are new prospects and I am in for a pittance. With the advancement in EV's, the Nickle has to come from...

Re: Investing in Li Batteries

Thread seems to have fallen off a cliff, so, lets see if anyone is interested ? Have not seen any real mention of investing in Nickle. Seeing as how 80+ % of EV battery cells are composed of Nickle and E. Musk has opened the door to massive battery manufacturing, I have put a pittance of my income (...

Re: Buick Lacrosse 2012 e-assist moto-alternator

I asked Lebowski, over a year ago, if there were any plans to do the code, and he responded that he just did not have the time to do it. I believe that there is more interest in these alternators now, so, maybe someone that understands code writing could check out if it could be done. I would even d...

Re: Buick Lacrosse 2012 e-assist moto-alternator

The voltage is not as important as the amps. Voltage works on RPM range. I want to do 144V or more on mine, but it takes 600 Amps or more to get real performance from the alternator you have. e-vector spells this out in his posts. It will take a Johannes Huebner brain, coupled to an automotive inver...

I forgot this was a brushless DC controller brain as I wanted an induction motor set up. Sorry.

Re: Project: Replace 18650 cells in laptop battery (w/pictures)

I did the battery cell swap on my Toshiba Satellite laptop and it won't do anything now. Just shows no battery detected.

My Sony Vaio shows no battery detected but runs fine off the charger connection. Battery is there just pitifully low voltage. Laptop is used as desktop only.

Re: Using BadBoy charger for 30S battery

Maybe I should say why I am/was interested in this charging system. Many years ago, I bought a belt drive 4KW ?120/240 volt AC alternator and attached it to a 10 to 1 gearbox that was attached to a 15 foot diameter propeller that I carved and placed this on a 60' tower that I built. I ran 2 hot legs...

Re: Using BadBoy charger for 30S battery

Segment the pack and charge each segment through an isolated AC/DC supply. This idea I have used for my 83V (74V nom.) , but it creates some manipulation to reach a very close balance voltage among segments. The Chevy Volt battery carries a nearly perfect balance of it's own, (.01-.015) usually. I ...

Re: Using BadBoy charger for 30S battery

I need to dig out the rectifier and test the voltage. Busier than a 3 peckered Goat the last few weeks. I would install a 10-12 Amp circuit breaker or fuse between the house supply and the charging device. The item in the link I sent in the UPDATED PM might be all we both need for charging. I...

Re: Using BadBoy charger for 30S battery

How can you not understand what I wrote ? I specifically said the log area is close to within 80-100 feet of the house and I have possibly 2 runs of 12G solid romex wire to charge the battery. I have said, twice that the AC voltage would be 117 from the house/grid. Obviously, a max of 20 Amp supply ...

Using BadBoy charger for 30S battery

OK. Lets see if I can lay out in detail my thoughts and viewer input requirements. I am nearly finished building a portable band type sawmill. Logs will be softer type wood and only up to 15" diameter at breast height. Logs are from 7' to 15' long. Our previously built sawmill had a 24HP gasoli...

Re: How do I step voltage down with low losses, weight and size?

How about we take this bad boy charging to another direction. I have a 120V 30S 4.1v/cell, Chevy Volt battery that I want to use to drive my sawmill that is nearly ready to use. According to what I think I read in this thread, rectifying AC voltage results in a 33% increase of voltage to obtain DC. ...

Re: Protect yourself while trying to develop/market a tool

Small time operation here, no where near commercial and don't have anything to do with "E" anything. Just looking for advice.

Patents are expensive and can be bypassed by China, etc. All I want to do is get a company interested and make a small royalty per piece produced.

Protect yourself while trying to develop/market a tool

As the title says, how does one go about this? We have designed an ingenious and simple tool and want to receive royalties, IF possible, and have someone make and market this tool.

Any and all input is accepted. Thanks
