Re: 24V/48V UPS as an inverter for mini power-wall

Ok then. In the link I provided, the guy took 2 SMART APC UPS's, which are true sine wave not modified square wave, and they were not equal output. One was 950 W and the other 1500W if I remember correctly. Been watching videos quite a bit lately, because wife and I are both under the weather. He us...

Re: 24V/48V UPS as an inverter for mini power-wall

I have 2 of the older 24v 1400 Kva SMART APC UPS's. They put out a true sine wave. I believe I can parallel them to get twice the amp capacity and add computer fans and use them as my inverter for my partial off grid system with Chevy Volt modules. You tube has some really smart people that show how...

Re: Boost 110v AC to 120v AC or slightly more

Too poor the buy another welder. This is wired with 10 Ga directly from 120-240v line from the house 3/2 twist service cable. It's flux wire because it's 56 miles 1 way to get a bottle of shield gas and no vehicle. That's why I'm building the reverse trike. Always worked well and used to do a good jo...

Boost 110v AC to 120v AC or slightly more

The power company down here keeps the voltage on the house side to around 108-112v. I keep after them to boost it up to 120v or so, where it should be. As long as I am the only one complaining, they just ignore me. As anyone with AC voltage knows, 108-112 is extremely low. In my shop when I try to u...

Are you referring to the rewound motor with square wire or a completely new factory wound motor ? Really nice thread on the rewinding. Thanks for the details.

Re: Rubber cushion drive in rear motorcycle wheel

I think I would look at it the other way around. Is there anything to be gained by removing it?
Yes, there are 5 of the fingers to be removed, and, no way to attach it to a flat disc to bolt it to the wheel. I also reduce nearly 1.5 inches of width so it all fits in the swingarm.

Re: Rubber cushion drive in rear motorcycle wheel

This will be a toothed belt similar but more stout than a timing belt. No shifting under load and a 3 to 1 ratio for less stress at takeoff.

Will wait for a few more comments and appreciate those already posted.

Thanks guys.

Rubber cushion drive in rear motorcycle wheel

Is there any logical reason why I need to use the rubber cushion drive on my 3 wheel motorcycle drive system using an electric motor and a 2 speed dog clutch tranny ? I have extensions made for the swingarm and ready to weld in place and have to cut off the 5 "fingers" on the Can Am Spyder belt spro...

Dauntless, he stated it was a 1981 auto and he posted under alt energy section. According to my search, it's a 50A alternator.

OEM wants to build stuff as cheap as possible.

Re: Using an old car alternator to generate electricity...

Don't know if you are capable, but, if you take the alternator apart and carefully/forcefully separate the 2 halves of fingers/claws on the rotor, you can remove that field coil inside and replace it with 2 ring magnets and press it back together. Then you don't need the brushes that will eventually...

Just talked with my son,in south east florida. Turnpike is full with 30 mph traffic, I95 is full with 22 mph traffic. Ever think about a front bumper mounted ball hitch ? Heavy angle bolted through the bumper and mount the ball. That way, you can SEE what you are doing, and get quick response on turning.

In that warm climate, if you don't debark those logs and get them off the ground, you will have scrap logs within 2 years. IF you happen to get to sawing them, keep an eye out for the " Denim Pine". It will be blue stained and sell for more than regular pine.

Practical Beekeeping. Best booklet you could have. Take a little flour and dust any bees you can find on flowers, then, follow them to the hive or hollow tree. It's called "coursing". "Green wood" is wood freshly cut, like, you are green to subsistence living.  Maybe ask around for a...
